Super 7 Ultimates Thread

I don't know if I like the sound of "deep dive"... give me Flashback, give me Condor, maybe Moon Striker... give me Yes Man and Melodia... I don't need it to be any deeper than that.

If there was a wave of Flashback, Condor, Yes Man and Melodia I could honestly be happy with the collection if it ended there. Don't try to mine too deep to keep the line going with one more Hawk per wave.

I hope they do vac-metal/toy versions of Commander Stargazer and Copper Kid to complete the main team in the vintage toy style. I have to think they will. It would be so easy. But for a Cartoon Wave, that Wave you made is perfect PantherCult.

Well Veebs mentioned Hardware and Brian gave a little smile (maybe a wink and a nod?). So when I say deep dive I mean probably lesser known villains and Hawks (at least to Brian who may not have a deep knowledge of the brand). I could see Melodia getting done as she seems like a big want in the community and she was never done as a figure before.

I mea if Deep Dive referred to Flashback, Condor, Melodia and Hardware... I wouldn't be mad..
I would imagine looking at Silverhawks the better known characters are almost all done already so pretty much anything they release now could be considered a deep dive to non-hardcore fans. I personally wouldn't consider your picks deep dives, but who knows what Brian thinks. Personally I wouldn't consider most of Monstar's mob deep dives.

Maybe if the line can go another 4-5 waves we'll start to see more obscure characters. Professor Power, Lord Cash, General Rawlings, the Warden, prison guards, etc.

Definitely want to see Hardware, Melodia and Poker Face from the mob.

Yeah... entire waves of Ultimates for $78 is crazy. Wave 2 of G.I. Joe is even lower. $66 for 4 figures... thats $16.50 each... and I still don't want to pull the trigger.

I will say that I have considered both Wreck-gar and Alligaticon when they were $30 each... so the entire wave for $77 is a little tempting

Wave 1 of Silverhawks for $75 makes me shake my head. Thats about what Mon*Star cost by himself back when these came out. To get the whole wave for that price is crazy.

Don't worry guys... Super7 is doing great as a company and they make excellent products that everyone likes. It's just an illusion that the ultimate fate of most of their products is probably going to be in buried in a landfill beside all those old ET games.

And yet with all these Super7 DEEEEP discounts, the Comic Con Glow in the Dark Turtles are still sitting at $70 each…

I don’t know what terrible deal Big Bad made to get the extra stock (did they buy them at cost and refuse to take a bath on this? did they sign a contract saying they could have the entire remaining surplus so long as it never went on sale?) just watching the price of every other figure even other glow “exclusives” get slashed around them but some how these will never dip, just gonna sit on Big Bad for three years at a marked up price… but they’re not going to win this war….

I’ll give them $80 for the set, not $70 a Turtle!

Hey, that’s not fair point of comparison…. They made a documentary a few years ago where they dug up the ET games and collectors and video game museums took them all.

They’re going in the landfill next to the $3m in FunkoPops they couldn’t sell

The aftermarket prices on those GITD Turtles is still pretty high. I’m guessing BBTS does a cursory search of ebay before putting anything on clearance. The bigger question is why aren’t they trying to give away the GITD Mutagen Man? No one seems to want that thing.

S7 got me with an email for Ghost Jaga going back in stock. Was sold out for a while, and got pretty steep on secondary, so I bit quickly. Little did I know that it would be available at BBTS. Same price, but I would have saved on Pile of Loot shipping rather than the $10 S7 charged me for this one figure I can’t cancel. I got got.

That's so weird to me. Mutagen Man is basically the only figure they've done where a GITD variant actually makes sense, and it seems to be one of the least popular ones. That's actually the version of Mutagen Man that I have and I really like it (as much as I like S7 figures, at least).

I was looking at the promo pics of the new Conan and Kull figures the other day and was getting really tempted, since I love both characters and those respective comics. Then Veebs posted pictures showing off his in-hand figures and.. whew.. bullet dodged.

Frazetta's Conan is great. Really high quality in feel and looks. S7 is a totally different aesthetic. I have the first Conan from S7, the one with the horned helmet, non removable. I like it enough, fits with the old MotUC style, but pales in comparison to the Frazetta Conan. Frazetta is charging $75, other e-tailers who are selling it are bumping it up $10-15. But the quality is night and day.
