Studio Series.

I’m taking some time to appreciate the individual robot and alt modes for the Constructicons, something I never did with previous versions, like Combiner Wars or the Generation Toy version I keep with my Masterpiece display. Each of these guys has a lot of merit on its own. They all seem to have better proportions than what I remember of the CW. Nice articulation too. What I’m really digging is their individuality. Sure they have some similar elements, as they should. But they’re all very deliberately different, in their conversion engineering and sculpt. That’s not something very common with the Scramble City combiners. Doing this also helps me learn their names, something so basic I’ve overlooked over the decades. I think this will add to my overall satisfaction with this team over time. It’s certainly helping to justify the price. Now October can’t come soon enough for Scavenger and Mixmaster. Doubt I can rely on getting lucky at retail this early.
 
I received the new Perceptor with the more accurate anime deco. It’s hardly noticeable besides the chest piece. There are a couple notable differences in the figure three dimensionally though. First he has a panel that hinges shut over his stored head in alt mode. Second, he has new, narrower hips that make it difficult to impossible to fold and tab the legs in for his tank mode. Surprised and disappointed they sacrificed that.

Ramhorn is a similar situation to Steel Jaw in that he is a parts-former. They probably could have figured out some alternative to that, but it’s not as bad as SJ. RH’s head doesn’t split to transform either, so that’s already better than SJ. My SJ had misaligned eyes.

Ratbat is also fine. Another parts-former, but he can also exist without the jetpack, the same way Rumble/Frenzy can exist without the wing cannons and piledrivers. RH needs the parts to form his ass.

Not the best rerelease, but I’m a sucker, and needed RH.
 
Still waiting on an opaque Rewind, and very surprised (& relieved) that he's not coming with the rerelease Blaster (because I already went that fucking route to get opaque Eject)...

Hope that set comes back in stock somewhere. I don't want Ratbat, but I do kinda want the upgrade Perceptor (though I hate the opaque window).
 
I just bought perceptor recently. I’d like the tapes but not enough to buy the whole figure again
 
I rarely PO mainline Transformers from BBTS. So I’m pretty shocked that they’re already processing SS Megatron! Once he hits my Pile, I’m shipping!
 
Scavenger and Megatron have moved up to Aug 7 delivery on Amazon.
 
Got 86 Megs yesterday. Robot mode is perfect. Both my son and I attempted to transform him in to his tank mode, and we both gave up. That is THE worst transformation I've ever worked with. Not like I was going to be displaying him in tank mode anyway.
 
Optimus was a breeze compared to this. My son who was able to transform MP Acid Rain without instructions was having a hard time with this. We watched PrimeVsPrime on YouTube and still couldn't get it.
 
My Constructicon set was dropped off shockingly early--I just ordered it yesterday afternoon and only got the delivery confirmation a little over an hour ago. LOL! Now, I'm going to be thinking about it all day until I get out from work.
