Storm Collectibles

I don't think it works, but I still have the 360 version of this pad with the fancy Chun Li graphics. It had a thumbstick.

I have the Ryu version of that controller for PS3. SFIV was the last fighting game i really tried to get good at. I was a bachelor mostly just scraping by so rather than going out I just stayed at home in my studio apartment with my cats practicing movies on that game for a little while.

One of my earliest PSX titles was Street Fighter Alpha and I splurged on the arcade stick. For some reason I could never get good with a joystick. It did come in handy when playing the port of Final Fantasy 6 years later to do Sabin's Bum Rush though. I actually always liked the Sony d-pad with its segregated buttons. I always felt it was more accurate than the classic rocker d-pad, but it was murder on the thumbs. I'd basically play Alpha until a blister would start to form then switch over to the stick. The Neo Geo clicky analog they debuted with the Neo Geo CD is perhaps the best, non joystick, input. It takes some getting used to, but they are magic. I have one of those and a couple of stick controllers and it was always my preference. Not that I've played it a ton. The Neo Geo purchase was the opposite of my SFIV days and it was when I was a bachelor with my own house and not much to spend my increasing income on so I bought a bunch of retro video game stuff (before the market went bananas). I got the Neo Geo, some games, a Sega CDX, and some portable clone consoles which are all things I probably haven't played in years.

Never got a Neo Geo. I actually feel bad about asking for and getting a Sega CDX for Christmas from my parents. At one point I had the full stack with the 32X on top.

I used to bounce back and forth between toys and videogames, where one would take slightly more precedence. Toys have been dominating for the last 15 years. I have no current gen consoles.

I am current on consoles but in recent years I find I would just rather draw or paint or write or read.

I'm enjoying fighting games and Tony Hawk in short bursts. I just have no patience for cutscenes and voice acting anymore. I had a vitriolic reaction to death stranding 2 about 4 hours in. I don't even know if I'm going to get metal gear 3, I just can't handle Kojima anymore. I had a free and clear summer and I still didn't even touch Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

I was able to get through Exp 33, mostly cuz that game is a delight and I was racing the spoiler culture.

I guess this is growing up.

People are going to lose their patience if we keep bumping with non-Storm posts...
The rerelease of Tony Hawk 1+2 was one of the last games I put a decent amount of time in. Haven't bought 3+4. We were on bikes 95% of the time as kids, but I loved the Tony Hawk games as an adult and I think it's a crime EA never released another Skate.

I got my parents to buy me the Interact vest thing so I feel your pain. What a colossal piece of crap that thing was.

It's comin' soon.

I've been in the Skate beta for two years (!?). I think it drops this fall.

It's not quite the same as Skate 2 to my mind, but it's close and fun and I look forward to a published final version to iterate on.
