Star Wars TVC Discussion

Got an email from Hasbro that the Cantinas will be shipping though the end of September.

"We’ve begun shipping these out, and while some fans have already received theirs, many are still on the way. We understand it can be frustrating to wait, and we appreciate your patience.

Your order is on track and will ship by the end of September. You’ll receive a confirmation email with tracking details as soon as it leaves our facility."

I've been getting pieces of my pre-order from Deep Discount first Mando armored Stormtrooper now Nightsister Merrin.

I got the same email. Man these are really trickling out slowly...still waiting on mine.

Got Kallus, Ventress, Crosshair, and 2x Merrins from BBTS Friday and they're pretty much the usual awesomeness SW figures are now they've given them a proper articulation format. Kallus is the standout, imho; everything just clicks about his design. Ventress needs her OG darker outfit. Merrin is an easy Cyberpunk custom waiting to be made.

my Lt Callahan has been really slow in getting to me
it was supposed to be here Saturday
now I'm worried the package may be damaged
...and I just got notification armored Moff Gideon is on the way

Got an email today that the Cantina is on the way and scheduled to arrive Thursday. It actually left CA on Friday, but only got the notice this afternoon. Communication on this has been odd...looking forward to seeing this thing in person.

I've got my Cantina setup and have been slowly adding figures to it over the last few days. Starting to realize how many of these Cantina aliens they've released over the years that need redos, so many don't even have knee joints. 80% of the bar is people standing now!

To be fair, that's true of most bars. :)

Though not helpful when this Cantina comes with more chairs than anything else.

I've really soured on the Cantina. The lack of roof especially on the entrance, no floor whatsoever, almost no paint - it all looks so unfinished yet cost me hundreds of dollars.

Arrived today, pulled some parts out but haven't put it together. I agree about a roof on the entrance way would have helped, as it is that section and the void where the Han/Greedo alcove fits into it that looks unfinished to me in a way I wish they had done more (although a piece to fit across the top of the alcoves as a roof would have been nice, but I can live with it or make my own).

I don't mind the lack of ceiling or flooring elsewhere. I doubt I will ever display it as a four-walled diorama, and I might use the entrance way as part of the "streets of Mos Eisley" in a separate spot (with the Dewback, landspeeder, and assorted denizens). So ultimately I think I will appreciate the modularity of it as I fiddle to see how I want it.

I would have loved this as a kid and I love to have it now.

yes the price did not seem to make sense to me at all and then gunship price
way overpriced for what you are getting

There is a lot of tooling and plastic and parts in the Cantina, and as something never made before and arguably the most iconic "set" in all the SW films, I felt it was worth it - in the world of toys pricing/collecting it was an easy purchase. In a practical sense, should this cost the same as food for a month, or a new laptop? Probably not...

Fiddling with it more, I think I am going to have the entrance and the two angled side alcoves on one shelf - Luke, Ben, the droids in the entrance, Han and Chewie in their alcove, the Modal Nodes on the other alcove. Then the bar and side alcoves in a deeper shelf display (looking at it so bar is in the middle, two sets of alcoves on each side) with all the other patrons. And use the facade for a the streets setup.

The lack of a ceiling for the entrance is really the biggest miss for me. I think some customizer/diorama maker would do well to figure out a 3D print top for it and sell that separately.

Now that I got the bar fully assembled, I do wish there was a "ceiling" over that bar itself to make it look less toyish on top, given they did texture the tops of the alcoves and walls.

Surprised how intricate the bar containers and piping is, it really looks great I feel.
