Star Wars Black Series

I was surprised they never got around to re-doing IG-88 after the IG-12 pack. Wouldn't require that many new parts.

Yaddle is a surprise for me as well, but given that they haven't even re-released that new Yoda body from the Gree 2 pack, I'm not surprised. It'll happen one day, I'm sure. Yaddle is just Yoda's drag persona, so it's just a matter of throwing a wig on the guy.

I think it's time for another creature pack!

Lothcats, the crystal Lothcats from TLJ, the owl lady from Skeleton Crew - and she can come with the helmet for Jude Law's character. The Dionaga. :)

Anchor it with a Mastiff from AOTC for a named, smaller character. Are there any other smaller characters TBS never got to? I've got enough Porgs.

Love this idea. I've made my thoughts on Loth Cats known, but we're long overdue for them. The Vulptex from TLJ are another favorite of mine- just such a fun, beautiful idea for a creature. At this point, too, that's probably the only way we're getting Kh'ymm too (then again, they charged full price for Grogu and his pram, so they'd probably do the same for her). While I don't think they'd ever do a full Dianoga, even getting the little eyeball would be a a fun pack-in idea.

But really, the Loth Cat and Masiff molds exist- they released both in TVC; I know it's probably ignorant of me to say they can just upscale the mold for it a bit, but it's not like they don't know how to make one. Heck, make a cat and dog themed pack and the Loth Cat, Masiff, and Vulptex all fit in well! Or an owl themed pack and throw in Kh'ymm and Morai and boom- easy pack. Maybe throw in accessories for their respective friends- a cloak and staff for Ahsoka the White, the helmet for Jod, etc.

Random question, but did anybody here ever pick up Enfys Nest from Solo? I wasn't a huge fan of that movie, but I really liked the design and potential for that character. There's a few still on Amazon and I've got enough credit I could grab her basically for free.

I have everything they released for Solo, including Enfys Nest. It’s a great figure, overshadowed by the massive speeder she rides. That thing is huge and unwieldy. Barely fits in my display.

It definitely sems a bit oversized... but it is a slick ride.

I once again wish they'd give us a redo of the old swoop bike figure because that would make a great sidekick to her.

Hmm, I may pick her up later this week. The bike might be huge, but I do like those cool tertiary characters, and it feel slike Disney has forgotten about her even though she'd be great for a follow-on style show from Andor. Not to do the same stuff again, but take it from the rebellion as a Jean Le Carre spy drama to the rebellion as full tilt action movie. Have Enfys and some other Rebels characters doing a series of heists, prison breaks, shit like that. Mission Impossible but in Star Wars.

Wait, the Enfys figure is still around? I never picked her up because the bike is so damned huge and I wanted a removable helmet. (Just checked and she's not hard to get for like, 35 bucks on eBay either). This is where I Wish they had more rando aliens in Black Series, would love to pick her up and set her up with a gang. (Erin Kellyman really deserves an unmasked action figure at some point.)

Solo is the one SW franchise at this point I don't have represented on my shelves outside of Dryden Vos. If they ever made the right Q'ira she might be there as well.

And I think I only really have Dryden for the Bettany head - I just realized I wonder if I could pop that off and put it on an Indiana Jones Adventure Series figure for a WandaVision custom...

Solo were the first figures from a single movie that consistently employed the digital face prints. Every figure looked great to me as a result. I also loved the variety of characters and silhouettes from this film. There was that big big guy that held Qi’ra as a slave? The Jon Favreau four armed guy on Woody’s team. And L3-37. I just loved it. I will never understand the disdain, or even lukewarm feelings for this installment of the franchise

Enfys is one of my favorite tertiary characters. I really really wish they'd do something more with her- there's so much potential there. Needless to say, I still have the figure, though I did offload the swoop bike. Like others said, it's just too big and unwieldy. I don't know if I entirely love the volume of the softgoods on her cape, and of course the articulation is a bit dated, but it's still a damn good figure, and one I proudly keep displayed fairly prominently. I always wished they'd do an unmasked version.

I actually just got back from seeing The Bone Temple, and it was good to see Erin Kellyman in it. I think she's great in pretty much everything she's been in, even if many of them aren't critical or commercial darlings. But I met her and got her autograph at Star Wars Celebration in 2019 and she was super nice. Even shared a little bit of her trail mix with me!

What I'd like to see is a sort of successor series to Andor set between Ep IV and Ep V with her and some other rag-tag tertiary rebels.

I don't want another Andor. Lightning isn't going to strike twice. So let's ditch the rebellion as a John La-Carre spy thriller and instead trade it for Mission Impossible (the movies, specifically). It's Enfys nest, a guy in a chair, an overly excitable or naive new recruit, a grizzled veteran, and some rebel leader above it all tossing out orders (hey, Mon, you busy?). And every film (or few episodes if it's a series) they do some huge operation where the goal is not examining the complex moral underpinnings of being a spy or examining the brutal and calculating nature of a resistance against an intractable fascist state, but instead it's big damn hero shit. Adventure spectacle. Give them some signature Imperial shitwad to chase them. Someone with a good voice, someone who can chew some scenery, someone British. A real Mark Strong, Ian McShane type.

Actually, really what I'm describing is more a follow-on to Rogue One, except one where they start winning without everyone dying. Set it just after Death Star one blows and it's all about the building momentum of the new Rebel Alliance. Fuck, sign my ass up, I'd write it. I'd draw it if it were a comic.

I'd watch/read that! It's one of my favorite oft-forgotten details that, at the epilogue of the Solo novel, Enfys gives the coaxium to Saw and meets a young Jyn Erso (the author wanted it to be Bail and a young Leia, but the timeline didn't quite match up). They seem to inspire each other in the short time together, so it would be interesting to see Enfys' reaction to both their deaths. I've always thought the Rebellion would be a good focus for a Clone Wars-esque show. Obviously we got Rebels and Andor, even Bad Batch to an extent, but Rebels focused heavily on the Jedi side of things, even moreso as it went along. I'd love a more grounded, non Force sensitive story. Not saying you can't put a few lightsabers in from time to time, but Star Wars has always been about the little guy fighting back, so show us more of the little guys, you know? Bring back some of the key missing players we already know like Enfys, the surviving members of The Path from Kenobi, maybe even flesh out Breha Organa more. I can totally see it working.
