They may both be canon soon. Galen may show up in Ahsoka next season, as per rumors. And I heard whispers of Kyle being brought into live action, although not sure when or where. Maybe when Mara Jade jumps in too? Possibly the starfighter movie? Galen would either have to be nerfed or dead as a force ghost. And Kyle, not sure if he'd be a Jedi or not, but we know the Dark Forces backstory will probably be changed or thrown out altogether. Now that Filoni is basically running things, I wouldn't be surprised with how much he likes those characters.

If Chewie is supposed to be small for a wookie, why is hus figure bigger than Santos? And they use him for almost every wookie body. So that means every wookie is small? Small isn't what I'd use to describe a wookie.

I have mixed feelings about that. One, they'll almost certainly throw out any previous backstory in favor of something that's similar, but distinct. We already saw that with Thrawn. I assume Galen will just be another Inquisitor of some sort. Kyle will almost certainly be a general rogue at least to start. How much tweaking will be too much?

It's hard for me to imagine Mara Jade, or any of the old EU characters in the new stuff, and one some level, I'm sort of ok with those not coming back. Not because I didn't like them, but because I'm not confident having them in some new thing will actually be that good. Thrawn, aside from spot-on casting, has been sort of painful as a villain. They keep doing this thing where he has the heroes dead to rights and then... stops. In Rebels I let it slide because kids show, but it started to creep into Ahsoka too and there all it's doing is making me think Thrawn sucks at his job.

Anyway, for my shelves they exist in a beautiful Elseworlds, canon-less limbo, like Revan and the other KotoR characters.
 
Amazon shipped my Daimyo Boba; wasn't due for another month, but here we are. Just waiting on Jango now- due to arrive Thursday, if all works out. Now that Taun We is coming, we definitely need young Boba, so we can finally be able to replicate his most iconic scene.
 
I wouldn't HATE them adding Kyle to the canon. I feel like the animated stuff has done a pretty damned good job of sneaking in stuff from the Legends era and making it work. Corran Horn would work even better IMHO.

But I'm also perfectly okay if they just exist as Elseworlds.

Got the new Jango and Ventress from Pulse today. I kinda hemmed and hawed about getting an upgraded Jango but honestly, this version fucking rocks. Early versions of anyone in Mando armor were a little tough with the ROM and he's a smooth criminal.

My girl Asajj, man, she can do no wrong. My only complaint isn't about her but about how I wish they'd just include sabers and hilts to save on wear and tear pulling the blades out, but Ventress is gorgeous. Feels like it's gonna be a low-key good year for Black Series.
 
Galen is possibly going to be the new son, fitting since Sam also played the son in CW. But that's just rumor. And again, he'd have to be nerfed or dead cause he was SSGSS in the games. Took on Vader *and* Palpatine and almost won. One bad dude. They can't have that running around.

It seems to me they are telegraphing pretty hard that Anakin is going to be the new Father, Balon the Son, and Ashoka the Daughter. It would be pretty weird to bring Galen in to fill that role without having previously established him in canon.
 
I'll be honest in saying that the finer details of plot in Ahsoka didn't really stick in my brain, but is there some bit of it that I'm forgetting where they bring up the Father/Son/Daughter thing from Clone Wars?

I'm pretty sure it had to do with the statue that Balon was looking for, and was standing on at the end of the season.

In the last shot with Balon, he is standing next to giant statues, seemingly carved into the mountainside, of the Father/Daughter/Son. One is pointing in the direction he is looking, indicating that whatever he is searching for is "that way". Adding in all of the interactions between Ashoka & Anakin in the World Between Worlds (which also has ties to the Mortis "gods"), and the implication is that we will see the plot threads of this picked up in season two.

I would love if they found some behind-the-scenes, between-the-lines, Rosencrantz-and-Guildenstern-are-Dead way to insert Kyle into the Andor/Rogue One saga and pay tribute to his EU origins.
