Star Wars Black Series

I can't believe it took this long to get a Chewie that could hold his bowcaster properly, but I am not at all upset to actually have one. Once Han gets here I'm switching my whole dang Star Wars shelf back to ANH for a bit.

Hey! I am not busting your balls in fact I came nowhere near them! I just know when I see these figures that you're going to be surprised that you want them.
You just know his balls very well

I don't know if you guys noticed, but now Hasbro Pulse has Black Series Anakin and Obi Wan from Episode III for $24.99 instead of $27.99

If you ordered them at $27.99 like I did, you will need to reorder them at $24.99 and cancel your $27.99 order. Because Hasbro didn't kindly update anyone's old orders to reflect the new better price.

I finally got my new Han Solo to finish up the currently-released new sculpt OT crew. As I will continue to say until it happens; we just need Threepio and old man Ben and I'll be pretty happy. I also wouldn't say 'no' to a better Vader. Han is a terrific-looking figure. Easily my favorite ANH Han ever. I do have two complaints, one is minor and one is ..less so.

The vest really inhibits the butterfly joints. That's a minor criticism because I know it's more of a character design issue than a toy issue, but I also don't think anything here to try to deal with it. They just seem to have went 'it is what it is.' He also doesn't get as much elbow range as I'd expect from those new deep hinges.

The only REAL problem I have, though, is the wrists. Do people actually like the new wrists? Sure, they move in all directions instead of one, but they also don't seem to have very much ROM. And it definitely seems like I'm getting more inward and outward motion than up-down, so the better ROM is the less useful one. Maybe it's just mine but yeah.. not impressed and I prefer the hinges.

They're looking good together, though. (Forgive the pic, my stuff isn't set up somewhere convenient for lighting or anything right now.)

I have been buying some of the Acolyte Jedi lately when I can find them for around $12 or $13. Just for some extra lightsabers and extra robes. I mainly keep getting Yord and Sol. I like getting Yord because he has that Yellow bladed lightsaber.

Jecki and Indara never seem to get that low in price yet. Hopefully they will one day.

I'm glad I have the extra robes though, because now I can put two on my EP III Obi Wan and Anakin when they come out.

So why is Anakin always in demand? The first version of this figure also was a pain in the ass to get till they rereleased him. And now this one sold out at BBTS. Luckily I got an order in on Pulse, so hopefully they don't cancel him. Luckily, I combined him and Slice n Dice from GI Joe to get free shipping. Still, for apparently one of the worst movies in the PT *eye roll* and the most "annoying" version of him, the figures sure do sell like water. The new CW version from Ahsoka was sold out for a bit too. I'm generally confused.

The entire Star Wars saga is centered around him. He’s THE main character of it all. That makes him pretty popular. Plus it’s been a decade since that original BA figure was released so this is a massive improvement so even everyone that already has that figure probably wants this one too. I’d argue Anakin is one of those figures that could be a hypocritical ‘evergreen’ wave made for retail to keep core characters continually on the pegs. He always sells.

I get that, but I would argue Obi Wan and Luke are more popular, maybe even Han. I don't see most of those selling out like this, although the new Han may be in that category. And with how everyone bitches about movie Anakin, just stumps me.

I don't think people are complaining about Anakin the same way they did when the prequels were released. He's definitely getting a lot more love thanks to things like the Ahsoka show, and just general coming around from people who grew up with the prequels. Our generation had the original trilogy, the generation after us grew up on the prequels. That's their trilogy. And they're adults now who feel the nostalgia for Anakin and Hayden Christensen's performance. He's getting a lot of respect and making lots of appearances now too. Even I've come around on the prequels, which I think aren't nearly as bad as the sequels. At least there seemed to be a plan for the overall three-movie plot. There was some dull stuff in those three movies, but also some real gems and moments. Anakin/Hayden contributed to that.

Amazon delivered Dash today.

He'd been my most wanted figure for some time, so I'm happy to have him and he's pretty much a perfectly acceptable figure, but I still don't know what they hell they were doing for with this head. It just doesn't come at all close to what I'm imagining for him. MAYBE some stubble would help. But I'm not sure if even that would do the job.

I don't have Dash yet (should be arriving tomorrow - I couldn't resist) but I already feel the same way. What on earth were they using as the source for his head sculpt? Looks nothing like any version of Dash I've ever seen. He'll be the first figure I own in a very long time where I'll be actively looking for a more accurate head-sculpt to put on him. Which will suck since there aren't a lot of figures that actually scale with Black Series to steal from.
The MCU Marvel Legends figures tend to have slightly smaller heads, I think. Is there a scruffy Walker without the Cap-style helmet on?
