Star Wars Black Series

Got a bunch of updates for Amazon orders- a lot of Black Series seems to be hitting on/around May 5th. Having watched Landspeeder Luke's recent Sebulba, Luminara, and Cody reviews, I'm quite excited to get those in hand. Luminara especially brings out the nostalgia for me- I had the original ROTS one back in the day, and could never keep her from popping in half at the waist. The BS looks like a scaled-up version of that figure (hopefully has an easier time standing too, though).

I mentioned it over in the Legends thread as well, but I took some time recently to go around to all my shelves and experiment with some light posing. Don't know why I was afraid to all these years; man, it really adds so much life to these figures. Not all of them can do crazy poses, but even subtle ones can add so much. I know that's old, old news to most of you, but it's given me a bit of a recharge in my interest for the line. Of course I have plenty of wants, but my biggest ones after all the posing might very well be a more articulated ROTS Anakin and Obi Wan. They could really benefit from some double joints to allow for some fight poses.

From the "I might not have bought this if I knew the economy was going to crash, but anyway" department, got the Shadows of the Empire two-pack yesterday. the Leia update is pretty unnecessary, though the face is marginally an improvement. Her forearms are weirdly too long though, but I checked and they were too long on the older version too.

Luke in armor is WEIRDLY satisfying as an action figure. Wonderful range of motion. the chest plate is an overlay, not sculpted on. He's got that bizarrely smooth plastic surface a lot of the troopers have now but he's really amazing to pose move. I wish he'd been a single release, but I'm glad to have him in any event. I kinda want to throw a lightsaber in his hand and have him squaring up with Revenge of the Jedi Vader.

Hey everyone, it's Super Camel from the Fwoosh :)

This is my first post here. Thanks to all of you on the Fwoosh who were posting about this place. I recently got Savage Oppress and the SotE Luke and Leia pack. Both items are excellent, and I already feel Savage is a Top 10 toys of the year candidate.

As joshsquash alluded to, lots of stuff on the horizon. Looks like a lot of stuff may ship this month/early May from Amazon, Pulse, and other places.

Rex, Anakin, Armored Moff, Moff Praetorian Guard, Krennic, Luminara, Shaak Ti, Sebulba and others are all being found or received. So, I guess all of that stuff is potential to be in hand any time. Looks like the Wal-Mart Exclusive ROTS carded figures are being found as well for the May the 4th program.

So much product!

I'm most excited about Shaak Ti and Luminara.

Happy you made it here! You're always one of the most pleasant Fwooshers and I was afraid I would never hear whether or not your Target ever finally slid down the hill.
🤣

I am happy to report my Target still stands. They swear they did everything needed to make the hillside safe and the store secure. But anytime I'm in it, I am just tip toing through the aisles and occassionally stopping to say "Did you feel that?" to other customers over any sound or vibration I might encounter.

I just get in, grab my toys, and run to the checkout aisle. It's like the old Toys R Us sweepstakes where you could win a couple minutes to just run through Toys R Us and grab what you could.

But instead of a fun contest for free merch, this is a life-or-death race to get out of an unstable retail store before it crashes down a mini mountainside, and I have to pay for the stuff.

But it's fun.

If it ever does slide down the hill you should volunteer for search and rescue operations so you can be the first to dig the action figures out.

The funny thing is I work for a merchandise reclamation company that buys merchandise from disasters like that. If I hear we bought a Target in your area I'll know what's up.

Got my Shadows two-pack in, and as I hoped I easily swapped Luke’s head for a spare G.I. Joe Classified Anniversary Diver head. It fits perfectly, and the helmet fits even better than it does on Luke’s head, with no flesh showing. I love this figure and much prefer it as a generic troop than a Luke disguise. I glued in the helmet and painted the neck of the old 90s one, this is a MUCH more elegant solution.

I picked up a TBS ROTS Commander Cody at Walmart yesterday. They didn't have the shipper that's been showing up with other TBS though.

And I dug out the other diver head for my second Guard (my wife gets the extra Leia for her personal Leia display). I think I like this even better? At any rate, these are great fun.

I have not heard this story. Target scooped up some scenic hillside vista only to have it wash away from under them?
Basically, yes lol. In Barboursville, West Virginia. I live in Ohio, but the nearest Target to me is that one in WV, about 45 minutes away. And it sits atop a hillside vista as you put it. There are other stores up there as well. But the Target is right near the back edge of a pretty big hill that goes down to a highway beneath it. Last year, the hillside began giving away not only from some erosion, but also from some nearby construction work.

They closed the Target fearing it would just slide down the edge of the Hill.

They took the time it was closed to secure the Hill, and oddly, make the Target bigger. And they promise, it won't fall.

I don't trust them. If that store ever falls, I will be getting ahold of Justice and his people so we can dig for buried toys.

Received the SotE 2pk from Pulse this week, and picked up Commander Bacara from GameStop. Apparently Walmart is getting a shipper of new stuff, but I didn’t see any sign of it this week. Just looking for Commander Cody at this point, though I have him POed.
