Star Wars Black Series

Apparently, someone found the new wave with live action Ezra, Merrin, etc. at Disneyland this past week, so hopefully they'll start popping up soon. If they're already hitting the states, Disney or not, I can't imagine it'll be another 3 months like Amazon says, but you never know.

Looks like Hot Toys just announced a Saesee Tiin. Hoping Hasbro will follow suit soon too!

If Hot Toys is doing Saesee Tiin, Hasbro needs to get in on that action. ASAP! Saesee Tiin is one of my most wanted Jedi.

I fully expect the Ezra, Merrin, Han, and Chewy Wave to ship this month from Pulse. People were finding that Wave in Canada last month. So, I expect Pulse will likely get them around the end of this month. So, Amazon shouldn't be too far behind that. They may even beat Pulse.

I feel like for Hasbro product such as Black Series and Legends, Amazon usually gets stuff in just before Pulse
 
I really dig the thing Hot Toys has done with their Jedi lately- Kit, Plo, and Saesee all come with interchangeable forearm armor to recreate their Clone Wars looks. Obviously Hasbro isn't gonna ever do that- why include interchangeable parts when they could just re-release the whole thing? But I do think they should start embracing interchangeable parts in general. Always found it odd that Marvel Legends are often given swappable hands or heads, but Star Wars isn't. There's really no reason why the Force users don't come with Force hands, or why the helmeted characters don't come with an alternate head instead of an often oversized bucket.

Anywho. I'm cautiously optimistic for the livestream today, but in Partagaz's words, I'm calibrating my enthusiasm.
 
COMPLETELY forgot there was a live stream today!

I was checking my preorders on Pulse last night and saw the Ezra wave was shipping in early July, which surprised me, so if we start seeing them stateside in June I won't be surprised at all.

Random thought: I didn't actually FORGET that I had a wampa and tauntaun and probe droid, but I'd put them in storage for a bit to display more prequel stuff and pulled them out kind of by accident last night. I know why they don't do more bigger items like that, but I miss it. The emperor's throne, even Han in carbonite...

Anakin and Obi-Wan look stupendous. So of course it's an exclusive. 😭 Anyone going to SDCC that wants to help us other collectors out? I'm sure we'll see single releases of them both in the future, but without the extra accessories and of course without the base, both of which I quite want. Maybe the single releases will at least come with Jedi robes.

The Temple Guard looks fantastic- some really great paint work there. Really happy that Bariss is the Jedi version. I'm sure we'll get the Inquisitor version eventually, but adding to the Jedi shelf is never a bad thing.

The Halloween reveals are cute. The Defying Gravity Asajj is a bit quirky; not sure I need it, but it's fun. The Ghost Guard is cool, but I think could've benefitted from some torn up robes instead. The Mummy trooper is the only one I'll probably aim for- just looks really fun. Though them giving us a clone with wrappings all over it feels like a slight dig at Mayday, who I hope we'll see eventually.

I'm betting that we'll see the Stranger at SDCC. He seems like one that they'll want as much hype for as possible, and having a big crowd in the room feels like the right move.
 
That SDCC set is fucking awesome! Barriss Offee and the asnd the Temple Guard also look awesome. Every time I think I have all the figures I need in this line, they prove me wrong.
 
Yeah, I'm sure the Stranger will be the big SDCC reveal. I hope he comes with an unmasked head and a bunch of accessories.
