Star Wars Black Series

we will never, EVER be able to have the Falcon itself at scale
Ah man but that would be awesome! Also, it's difficult since the interior set doesn't really fit within the exterior model the way it ought to. Whatever you do, there's some cheat that's gotta happen the ruins the accuracy.

Part of me would love to do a scale Slave 1. I was talking to my son about getting some software to design files for a 3D printer to make a fully detailed interior and exterior for Slave 1. Yeah it would be big, but if I am doing one big item, that's the one.

Sadly, even Slave 1 would be enormous at scale. At this stage the only full vehicles that I think would work are the A Wing and Jedi prequel fighter. The cockpit though, that's doable as a diorama at least.

I got the Maul wave from HasbroPulse. Most of them were fine, and very well done. But eleventh brother has issues. I had to heat up his ankles because they were both feeling fused. Luckily the heat loosened them and he moves fine, albeit with alot of resistance. And his saber blades are orange, I compared them to shin and maul its alot closer to shin. Luckily I have extra red blades. But now I have more extra orange blades. I don't know why its so hard to get rhe saber colors right. The first set of shin and Baylen both had red, when it should be orange, the Jedi Fallen Order 2 pack with Inquisitor Cal both figures had orange sabers instead of red. Cals can be fudged, he can use an orange saber since it was a special color for that game and it still makes sense. But trilla shouldve had red. And now Eleventh brother is also orange instead of red. Someone needs to get their eyes checked for color blindness.

Careful using that name, you two. Disney will send Donald and Goofy to "teach you a lesson".
The biggest whiff of new Star Wars was making Boba Fett an antihero instead of an antagonist. Can't even have his ship keep the name. Have to sand off all the sharp edges. It's a bummer, because they couldn't even land the plane of him being a smart antihero.

Right? Especially given that Boba is- or was- a villain, having his ship be named "Slave-1" at least fits. It's not like we're looking up to him to lead by example; if Luke's ship was named "Slave-1", that would be different, but Boba's a bad guy (no matter how cool). Disney could've retconned it so that "Slave" was the abbreviation of a longer name or something. Heck, maybe even "S-1", if they really had to. But "Firespray", aside from being the class of the ship, also just sounds a little... off. Don't know how to put it. I think it could work for another ship, but not Boba's. And "Boba Fett's Starship" just sounds lazy. They worked themselves into a corner; could've just done the Peter Pan thing of "look, ya'll, we know this word/concept" is problematic- it was a different time", blah blah.

Or, just, you know.... acknowledge that it's a fictional universe and things work differently there.

I think it'd be real cool (but very unlikely) if that 4 pack came with a Millennium Falcon Cockpit diorama (since we will never, EVER be able to have the Falcon itself at scale).

I’ve got no problem with changing Fett’s ship’s name.

Then again: I also like him as an antihero.

🤷‍♂️
Honestly, it's one of those things where I'm not sure why it bothers me so much. I like Boba, but he's nowhere near my favorite characters. Certainly not high enough to have preferences on how his things should be. I think it's just that part of me that hates having to adjust to unnecessary changes, which I admit is totally a first-world personal problem. There's literally nothing stopping me from continuing to call it "Slave-1"; heck, they still do on Wookiepedia, so I'm not sure why it's a big deal at all to me. I'm like a shark when it comes to nitpicking- if I stop doing it, I die. 😅

Speaking of Boba stuff... I keep hoping for more BS helmets, but was thinking... what do I really want? I've never been a fan of his ROTJ helmet, but I assume that would be the next one. What would be really funny to me is if they did the Pre-pro 3, which is painted VERY similarly to the ESB helmet but with an extra kill stripe in the back, and some other subtle differences in the paint wearing. it's stupid because everyone who sees them would think I have two of the same helmet, but I'd get that one. Master Replicas even scanned it for their version mistaking it for the ESB helmet. And I'd want the Pre-Pro 1, which I really love, and is the final (of the three) helmet Johnston painted.

As an OT fan I've always loved Boba - he's my second-favorite character after Han - but to me he is and always will be a villain. I could somewhat accept his "villain with a code" thing in the EU, but to me, Din Djarin is "good guy Boba Fett" whereas Boba should have stayed fully evil, imho. Instead he kind of got the same treatment as Marvel's Venom.

Even on Mandalorian, he could still be a villain with a code, especially when he murders Bib Fortuna and takes over as crime boss. Unfortunately as crime boss he was less interested in crime and more into taking a saunter around town.

I mean wtf on everyone in that show? The twins try to kill him then apologize? And gift with something that probably had a better shot at actually killing him? So many dumb dumb dumb choices on that show.
