Star Wars Black Series

I'm sure Disney's secrecy with things didn't help either
For sure. They'd rather not have accurate product on shelves at release than have important characters or costume changes spoiled by a leaked figure from the factory popping up online 2 months before the movie even comes out. Which means Hasbro basically CAN'T be in production on anything Disney doesn't want known until basically the movie is already in theaters.

Black Series and The Mando and Grogu merch has sold really well in my tri state area. The Mando and Grogu Black Series figures and the first edition white boxes all sold out fast a couple of times. Now there isn't much of any anywhere at Wal-Mart's or Target in the stores I go to throughout Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia.

All the Mandalorian and Grogu merch that's not Black Series has seemed to sell well too, especially at my nearest Wal-Mart, where that huge display of stuff was just all wiped out.

Black Series though does pretty well around me in general at retail.

Vintage Collection doesn't seem to do as well.

Yeah, same here. Even when the Black Series pegs are empty, there always seems to be a peg or two of Vintage Collection hanging around. I feel like I've had Shaak Ti staring me in the face for ages now every time I walk down the aisle.

If I had to guess, I think maybe the price is what's holding it back. $20 for a 3.75" figure, when Black Series is only $5-7 more, and you can get the kid's line for $5-7 less, it puts it in that weird in-between spot.

It makes me so sad they Hasbro seems to be determined to kill their only SW 3 & 3/4 line. The current figures have been fantastic too, the best they've ever been by a far margin. $20 a pop is just too much for anything but the hardcore collector of a dying scale apparently. I really wish they would figure out a way to make these cheaper - just to keep the line alive.

That being said, it's the opposite in the stores near me. Lots of Mando/Grogu black series figures and other stuff - basically everything except the TVC figures. I've seen the wave once so far at a WalMart, and Marrok/11th Brother was already gone. Just a few troopers left (which were also gone the next time I stopped in). Maybe my stores just aren't ordering them due to the leftover Shaak Ti's?

Not that it's realistic, but I've often thought that if TVC figures were like 9.99-12.99, I'd be in HUGE fucking trouble. They're nice enough figures that I'd just grab them. And I know that because I've ALMOST done it tons of times when I saw figures on sale, and I only stopped when I remembered that filling out that collection would require buying all the 20+ dollar ones that aren't on sale.

Depending on what it comes with, I'd be all over a build-up pack. Doesn't mention anything about any new hands, which is probably what I want most, but I may be swayed by the other accessories. Hell, far as I'm concerned, they can skip the figure altogether and just release a pack with hands and other accessories for Troopers and Jedi/Sith.

Im down for the pack too, hopefully it comes with one of those back packs from TCW. Not sure I remember seeing those made in TBS yet.

Tempted to, but I'm not a Pulse member anymore, and he ain't worth the $20 with shipping. Yak says it should go up on Amazon some time this month, so I'll hold out.

Ill grab one & might throw it in the Anzellan ship from the adventure series line along with the little guys from the IG-11 deluxe figure. I painted one this weekend with "chrome" paint, and it turned out really nice! Still figuring out if it really scales with TBS though, or is it more TVC scaled?

Probably wait to see them at brick and mortar though so I can pick paint jobs, I'm sure there will be about a million of these out there in the stores.
