Star Wars Black Series

52 here. I don't remember seeing any of the original trilogy in theatres but I do remember watching them on TV along with the Ewok movie. Then I was actually working in an AMC theatre on opening night of The Phantom Menace. Unfortunately it was a disaster because the power went out a couple hours before midnight shows and we couldn't screen the prints ahead of time. Then we finally got power back around 2am. Needless to say we had a lot of unhappy customers.

From that point on I have seen almost everything day/week of release. Also before Disney I had read pretty much all the books and comics. Since Disney I have fallen off on the books and comics because I just couldn't be bothered starting over on canon adjacent media.

I wanna say the order they were in on the DVDs was the airing order, which isn't chronological order. If I remember correctly, I think the first time I saw it was on Disney+, so hopping around wasn't all that difficult.

Only reason I watched CW after bouncing off the first few episodes years prior was someone told about the proper order. In addition, you can just break it down by arcs and what you even care about. Dathomir witches, Maul, etc. That's what got me hooked, doing it comic book style .

Fast and the Furious also has a viewing order, which amuses me.

YakFace posted that shelf tags are starting to go up at Target for wave 2 of the M&G Black Series, and specifically mentioned Grogu as one of the figures. Not a surprise, per se. At the very least, if he doesn't come with the Anzellans, hopefully he'll be in the Mudhorn armor piece thing, just to give us something different. Looking forward to the stream tomorrow, if only to see what's ahead.

Okay, okay, okay, seriously. How many people here have the first name Matt and/or were born in 1976-1979? Were we just destined to find each other?

I told a story this weekend about meeting a guy in high school wearing the Pearl Jam stick figure shirt with the set list on the back and mocking him for not knowing all the songs listed, then coming back the next with a tape of those and other non-album songs, then we were great friends for a few years. (I didn't mention, but I also introduced him to his wife.) I think in the movie thread. Anyway, his name was Matt. When my dad met him, he asked, "Do you have a brother named 'Glossy'?"

We have a nephew named Matthew, my son has two friends named Mathew, and my older daughter's best guy friend is named Matthew. He does go by Matt sometimes, but I call him Thew.

It's a real Matt world.

I can’t think of a single person offhand that I know in real life currently whose name is “Matt”.

Now that I think about it, I don’t think I’ve even ever had a client named Matt. Friends when I was younger, yes, a couple.

Used to be able to shut up my entire elementary school classroom by yelling "MATTHEW! KATHERINE! MICHAEL! JESSICA! SIT DOWN"

Granted it was a VERY white classroom

Also in the Articulated Thoughts D&D group we have more Matts than we have non-Matts.

Buncha fuckin' Matts!!!!

My best friend in HS was named Matt. We called him Dobber because of his resemblance to the character from the show Coach. But he didn't like that after a while, so Matt it was. His birthday is the day after mine. We don't get in touch as much as I'd like to these days.

My real name is Norman.
