Star Wars Black Series - The Wishlists

What? I was gonna say awesome to the rest of your post but this is the first I'm hearing about Struzan! Thank you and ah shit!
Yeah. His wife posted on various social media channels that he's in the final stages of Alzheimer's. Real bummer, but what a legacy of work. I have the lenticular Thing poster from Vice Press over my bed and the Raiders poster in my living room. If they offered the Jedi Prince covers in poster form I'd grab them too.

Ah man. I remember seeing Ralph McQuarrie at the end there and... I know it happens to everyone, but still.

Man, I mean... so much! Goonies, even Mallrats for Christsakes. I gave my son my old SE prints and he also has the ROTS one Struzan did.

Fair play, I'd pick her up as well, especially the older version from the Tales show. I think Barriss and Ahsoka end up being the most complex Star Wars characters outside of Andor.

I read all those awful Jedi Prince books when I was around 10 yrs old and they totally worked on me at the time. I think it was mostly the really awesome insert art from Karl Kessel and *actual* Drew Struzan covers (let's all take a moment for Drew as he's currently in the process of exiting this world for the great beyond). I know if I went back and read them they'd be awful, but I don't care, the art is what tells those stories in my head and I've checked and it's still on fire.
I was blown away by what they did with Barriss in the Tales From series. I swear, the animated shows do a better job showing a complex, heartbreaking character arc than any of the films ever did. Andor is truly its own remarkable thing and my favorite project overall, but otherwise for me it's the animated stories that really pull me in with Star Wars these days.

Even one-note villains in other formats like Agent Kallus are given time to breathe, evolve, and become complex and worth learning about.

Agreed on Barriss. And really, I'd probably take any figure of her I can get at this point. Even the inquisitor, but I'd still really appreciate an AOTC figure. Yes, to just stand there.

I'd prefer a Task Force 99 live action show, but I'd take a cartoon if I must. I'm sure it could be amazing, especially if it's a spiritual sequel to Bad Batch but would invariably call back to things like Rebels and what not. but some kinda series, or even a movie, about a squad of elite Stormtroopers? COME ON!

As I've said in other threads; I've deeply cut back on what I collect. Both in terms of lines, and which bits of those lines I buy. I sold a huge chunk of my SWB collection (for the fourth time since SWB started) and have really committed to just favorites and certain bits and bobs. So my wishlist is actually very short, and apparently mostly pipe-dreams because no matter what... they never seem to happen.

Dash Rendar
An updated/better articulated ESB Snowtrooper
Imperial Knights (ideally at least Draco).
An updated Hoth Luke that actually has wrist articulation (seriously, Hasbro.. wtf...)
An updated Vader with current articulation and robes that aren't made of 26 square yards of fabric.

And even though I did just buy that way overpriced three-pack, I'd still be willing to take a Qui-Gon with updated articulation.

Mmm, a wishlist eh? Let’s see:

1. Boba Fett (BoBF)
2. Luke Skywalker (Dark Empire)
3. Palpatine (Dark Empire)
4. Kyle Katarn (Dark Forces 1)
5. Dash Rendar
6. Lak Sivrak
7. Tessek
8. Palpatine (Sith Eternal RoS)
9. Ree-Yees
10. Leia (Dark Empire)

Damn, hard to pick ten. Mostly I just want the 90s-early 2000s Power of the Force/Jedi etc run of all OT and EU characters, and a couple from the Disney era. I’d pad out more from recently, but not in a top 10.

Heheh yeah Rise of Skywalker is prequels-level awful, but I can’t say no to overpowered mega-Palpatine.

That and I dunno, his eyes and the robes really worked for me. They turned everything about him up, not just his unnnnnnnlimited powerrrrrrrrrrr

Since I enjoy buying Jedi and Sith the most, my Top 10 will probably consist of all Jedi and Sith. But I will take any and all Prequel and Original Trilogy characters.

That being said, here we go

1.) Quinlan Vos
2.) Darth Bane
3.) Darth Plagueis
4.) Saesee Tin
5.) Agen Kolar
6.) Darth Talon
7.) Darth Krayte
8.) Eeth Koth
9.) Coleman Trebor
10.) Yaddle

Jedi Temple Guard, Kyle Katarn, Barriss Offee, Cere Junda, Pong Krell, Darth Sion, and Darth Trea are all rumored. So, that's a lot of cool Jedi and Sith that could be on the way.

While Jedi and Sith are my favorite, it does suck to make a Top 10 without any other characters from the Star Wars Universe. So, here is a Top 10 of all non-Jedi and Sith.

1.) Lobo
2.) Bo Shek
3.) Zam Wessel
4.) Captain Typho
5.) Captain Panaka
6.) Lak Sivrak
7.) Rancor Keeper
8.) Oola
9.) Wookie Chieftan Tarfful
10.) Nien Nunb

this maybe be kinda sacrilegious but I prefer the 6in line to the 3.75in line mostly because I think the figures themselves look better. I am well-aware that switching to 6in meant losing out on a lot of world-building (vehicles, creatures, environments) though there are other lines that satisfy those needs (fingers crossed the Micro Galaxy Squadron diversifies from just vehicles but I can save that for another thread)

if I was going to name one 'want' from the Black Series it would be an update on Jabba's Prisoner Leia though I've reconciled myself that it might be a longshot. disappointing but I'm aware of the context. anyway my more probable top 10:

1. Bespin Gown Leia
2. Ralph McQuarrie Luke
3. Ralph McQuarrie Han
4. Ralph McQuarrie Chewie
5. Ralph McQuarrie C-3PO
6. Ralph McQuarrie R2-D2
7. Death Star Gunner
8. generic Imperial Officer
9. Lobot
10. Max Rebo

yeah I'm one of them OT purists.

I would legit buy an entire weave or boxed set of McQuarrie versions of the character. Great list. (I'm not an OT purist but I do think it would be wonderful if they expanded their OT coverage with minor characters. Can't believe we don't have Lobot yet.)

I get why some might think that way, but yeah the six inch figures are just better sculpts and better for the shelf. 3.75, yeah, that's more about interacting with ships, and you're right the MGS can solve that.

Also, I admit, collecting six inch figures makes it easier to pretend I'm more of an adult.

Guys, honestly.. with the recent reveals I'm almost done. A couple more deep cut wishes and I could potentially not feel the need to buy any more Star Wars figures until something really grabs me from new media.
