Star Trek

Getting notices from BBTS that the price on at least some of the Wave 1 Nacelle Figures has been lowered from $32.99 to $28.99 - odd as I was fully prepared to see them go up in price given what they are doing with almost every figure using unique sculpts and the accessories promised...

I think that brings it cheaper than Nacelle when you add in shipping. This is why I haven’t ordered wave 2 direct yet.

I preordered Kirk w/horse for $29. The horse doesn't appear to have articulation in the render (I prefer it that way, actually) but I'm still extremely surprised that we get a friggin horse with the figure for under $30 lol Even if it's just a statue basically, that's still a really interesting value.

I think I have time to see some reviews of Wave 1 before I preorder anything from wave 2.

I'm still kind of turned off by the 1/10 scale, for some reason.

They did originally say it would scale with Star Wars Black, which I think would have been a great spot to be in. But people started bitching, and Brian is a Brian that actually listens to the people.

I get fans wanting these to scale with their pre-existing collections, but man, SWB is the sweet spot scale for me, especially with a line that is apparently going to be this expansive. And I don't care, because at the time, my collecting habits weren't focused on Trek, so I personally have no ties to the old stuff. Not to mention, they're releasing the same characters in the Nacelle format, so...leave your own footprint on the property, man.

I did not know that. It doesn't make me more interested in them, but I get old collectors wanting to be able to continue their collections.

Now, if Mattel decides to scale match their DC figures with McFarlane, I'mabe mad.

These were going to be 6" at one point? What a terrible time to listen to fans. DST released three and a half full crews* and a few side characters.

I would have much preferred a new 6" line carving out its own identity and fitting in with the vast majority of other lines - not that I plan to display together, but those lines are 1:12 for a reason. I'll leave my DST figs in their pretty boxes on the wall (I've opened a grand total of... three DST ST figs, and one of those was to customize Tasha - and I did open all the Enterprise figs when we had the consoles back in the day - but they've all been back in their boxes since 2005).

*we all know those who are missing

BVW said recently these were made to scale with the DST line by design. I don’t believe these were ever going to be 1:12, they just did a really lousy job of communicating on this.
