Spider-Man Retro 2026 Wave with Cardiac, Owl & Hypno Hustler

I'm more nonplussed that Cardiac has no waist articulation whatsoever. I knew a little about him from Spiderman so I decided to get him, dunno why they didn't include his glider in this release, but of course all those dynamic poses that can be accomplished by this once-and-never-again-Erik-Larsen-has-to-approve-before-it's-made characters, and waist articulation is the first to go. Thanks Hasbro!

To those still deciding on this figure, I'd say just wait til next Christmas. It's "alright", but not "30 dollars alright."

Yes they are for his boots. I don't know what the blast ones are supposed to represent but the smoke ones probably represent that they can shoot knockout gas in the comics

Is the BAMF base for Nightcrawler really the same explosion effect the two-packs have been getting lately?
 
I got my 2099 and Nightcrawler. Miguel is a great upgrade, although I do like the colors on the older one better. Not a fan of his webcape though. It looks weird and a little bulky. Its not bad, just awkward.

Nightcrawler is cool but mine had both his ankle discs almost fused it seems. I almost broke the pins trying to pop them. So I heated them up and after that they popped fine. I have to be careful with his ankles now though since the peg seems to have stressed a bit. And after looking online to see why he came with this sword, I understand it. But its still stupid because the one he uses looks like its made of light or electricity. Maybe an energy sword of some sort? And its the same shape as this one. But this one is an actual physical sword, so unless it does that in the comics, they still messed it up. I'll use one of the older ones in any event. I had an extra so he gets that.

I may grab Spider Venom if I see him on discount. I like the head so as others, I may use it for Miguel after getting rid of the symbiote goop. I have no attachment or care for the rest of the figures so I probably won't even get them on discount. I haven't gotten any of the new versions of the A list villains so getting these random D listers isn't on my list, no offense to anyone who likes them lol. I unno, just not extremely interested in rebuying all the villains I have already, even if they are a bit better.

Far as I can tell, yeah. I saw a bunch of the Nightcrawler at my local Target yesterday. He's a good looking figure, and Kurt's one of my favorite X-Men, but I don't think that one's for me.
 
The Uncanny Spider-Man BAMF cloud is NOT the same sculpt as the previous explosions we've been getting in the Punisher 2pks. It's wider and has fewer "spikes".

It looks flat and very small too for some reason. Like Iceman's frozen skateboard base, why even include it if you're not going to do it right?

Besides, I'd rather them spend a little more and do the BAMF effect that looks like a pair of clouds stacked on top one another with a little vertical gateway attaching them in the middle. That's arguably the most "signature" BAMF cloud.

Got the new Miguel today.I do prefer the darker blue of the old version but I Think this non-pearlescent plastic will age better, and honestly, this is the build he needed. One of those rare upgrade that's just yes, the technology is better now, make him better and be done with it. Instant swap out for the old one on my shelf.
 
If I saw that BAMF effect away from a Nightcrawler figure I would not guess that was what it is. I think of it as two connected mushroom clouds - would love a real BAMF effect. Maybe if thy do a Danger Room playset that could be included, along with a wall section that Kitty can phase through..

I still wish at some point they'd give me him in black and red like he's supposed to be, but I know that's basically a pipe dream.
