I made a fuss about this being a necessity back when it was first shown off. Which means that if it happens, you can all thank me because Lenny OBVIOUSLY got the idea from me.

They mentioned it in that panel recap video posted on the Pulse YouTube channel they they’ve got the rocket launcher able to be set up on its own off of the vehicle. So yes, that’s happening now. :)

One thing if the Snow C.A.T. does fund but misses stretch goals is that the value could go up on the secondary market if there is only a small amount of them made. I know it isn't anywhere near as popular as say Unicron or the Khetanna, but I would imagine that if it doesn't break 10,000 units it would be a bit more valuable on the secondary market.

Was having this conversation today with a random marketplace collector.

What's the actual value? Are we going off eBay values? Local sold values?

I see guys around me in Toronto are still trying to unload $700+ HISS Tanks and Dragonflies. We're a few years out of the 1st and months after the second, it's not moving. That clearly can't be the value the people equate. Even the Rattler extras have already bottomed out in my local scene because those who got extras (that's wild) don't need an extra Weasel or Baroness and I've already seen them listed and gone for around 40 (consider that we pay about 30 to 35.8! Canadia).

Even when I price things I can't put stock in most sold valuations because those markets are not mine and the situations may have changed.

And with this low of a backer count, I can't imagine people who aren't getting one aren't already on this ride for it to be hypothetically manufactured and in limited quantities.

7,487 / 8,000 (+8) 93.59% of funding goal with 14d 18h left.

Well we are just a little over 2 weeks away from the deadline for funding and it is still crawling along. Again it is still positive momentum, but painfully slow. Let's see if there is another drop of 20-30 backers in the next couple hours like there has been for the better part of the week.
 
And there we go.

Just checked the numbers on the Snow C.A.T. after my update and it is currently sitting at 7,459 when I posted it was 7,487. So almost 30 backers lost in 2 hours. Really? Something is definitely up with the backer count every morning around this time.

Basically eBay is still one of the standards to check on the wider market values. I usually stick to sold listings because anyone can list for pretty much any price if they want to so that isn't really an accurate gauge of what buyers are actually paying. Of course it doesn't mean someone can get that price locally, but it is useful as a reference for sellers and buyers. Also anyone can sell on eBay if they want to, and that opens up your available market significantly which can lead to you getting closer to those market prices for items you are selling. That comes with all sorts of drawbacks as well. I used to sell on eBay quite a bit before all the changes they made so that it became not worth the hassle to sell anymore.

I find my best options for selling now are fandom specific boards I frequent (not facebook). There at least you are dealing with other collectors who know the perceived value of items. I find dealing with them is easier, in general, than on Kijiji or other general selling sites. Those who are interested know the hobby and are usually looking for stuff for their collection and not just a super deal (or to flip).

Then I will get a table at a show because, again you have an audience that is both knowledgeable and willing to spend for the right items.

Also being realistic in your expectations on selling helps. I generally try to sell at what I think is reasonable, to slightly cheaper, if I am motivated to move items. If I am more interested in getting a certain price I price accordingly. Then on rare occasions I will price not really to sell but to see if there is interest (and of course I'll sell at that price if someone wants to pay).
 
I would love to move my extra HISS for whatever I paid. It’s likely I’ll lose money on it.

I understand, but I'm responding to the idea about gauging the value of the hypothetical Snowcat due to hypothetical low production, and comparing it to other Haslabs and my general observations on the current toy aftermarkey.

I just think there's too many wildcards with timing, economy, aftermarket demand, and regional market values to draw a silver lining around "if it at least funds, maybe it will be desirable".

If I were to marry our two approaches on this, I optimistically see America calming down, the global economy calming down, and then people that couldn't afford the Cat suddenly are flush with cash to pump the aftermarket for it.

As a day to day user on Facebook Marketplace (and yes, Kijiji may as well be deleted at this point), I just think the seller aftermarket and values are out of touch in general, which would be another reason I don't see the Snowcat commanding a value no matter how low the production is.

But this is a non-discussion anyway, because the thing isn't even funded.

I wonder if it has something to do with international backers? I believe it's been mentioned they throw them in everyday at some point rather than one big lump toward the end.

If that were the case, then you could surmise it's losing backers outside of the U.S. I don't know if that's the case, just throwing it out there.

Whatever the original price was, I don’t even remember. I don’t want to deal with eBay, the cost of shipping is gonna be a headache too. Ideally I’d sell locally.
 
I know this makes me part of the problem, but I swear this is going to be damned near a day-of decision for me. Especially because this time around we really must assess the value of the core offering at full price versus with all the add-ons. Also I just went to war with my studio space in terms of storage and ye olde anxiety kicked in about where I'll have it. If I don't have room to enjoy it I've made a mistake.

Although I'm working a comic con the weekend before this closes and if I make bank at my booth that'll be an easy excuse. And also comic cons are a pretty good canary in the coal mine for expendable income so if nobody's buying... ye olde anxiety will increase.

I really did love the cat as a kid though. It's so tempting to get it just based on love of the old school stuff.
