Snow C.A.T. Live!

Lenny and Tony were just on the Full Force Podcast and Chris asked them about this and Lenny said they kind of underestimated how big the Snow Cat would actually be in 1:12. Even the original was bigger than then the Hiss (length and width, not necessarily height) so a similar price to the Hiss should have been expected.

I still see the Hiss as $200 either way $100 in figures and think, yeah, that was fair. $225 for this with $100 in 3 figures and a campsite still feels fair, especially since how inflation and tariffs have affected prices the last couple of years/months. I have no doubt this will fund, probably around SDCC, but I’m a little worried about hitting Flint tier at the moment. We’ve hit all tiers before easily so I’m not super worried yet but we’ve also funded the others a lot faster too so it’s harder to say on this one. Probably just mid-campaign jitters and nothing to really worry about but I do like the fast paced funding to reassurance early.
I'm of two minds about the Snow C.A.T. size. After watching "A Punk With Toys" comparison video I was expecting it to be bigger than the HISS, but not by as much as it was in the reveal video. The Haslab is a BEAST!! So I am both loving the size, but also questioning if it really is/should be that big compared to the HISS.

As for the Snow C.A.T. funding.......I am not worried about it funding and, for now, not too worried about the tiers. The Snow C.A.T. is following the more traditional pattern of Haslabs that don't immediately fund. So it will probably be slow until SDCC, and maybe even after that, and then once it officially funds more people will jump in because it will actually be made. Then it will probably move along enough to unlock the tiers by the final days.

I still find it hard to believe it hasn't even hit the halfway point yet (it's all tiers or nothing) but it's adding backers everyday and you know they'll be a big jump at the end, so we should be fine. It's when they start losing backers that you get nervous.

I wonder if thoughts have changed on the Thunder Machine? Will that be the 2026 Haslab?

Chad was in 3POA's stream last night. He mostly rehashed what he said in his earlier video, but mentioned there was an even larger Snow Cat shown in the slides.

Since I want this thing to fully fund, I'm not going to mention the tendency for white plastic to yellow.

I know it's a ridiculous wish but I'd love a Classified Rolling Thunder. A vehicle that's also a base diorama? Yes!

As for the tiers funding, it's probably pretty likely to happen during SDCC. I hope they have more arctic figures to share to make it more appealing. I want v2 Iceberg and v2 Snow Serpent so bad! Make arctic Duke while you're at it.

I haven't thought about the Rolling Thunder in YEARS, but man, a legit playset for Classified would be amazing. If the size of a golden retriever.

I hope they reveal 2-3 artic characters at SDCC to build some buzz. Snowjob is lonely, regardless of what happens with the CAT. How about the Polar Bear as a small vehicle, priced like the Ferret and with, I dunno, Iceberg or something? That's such a wee little vehicle and could generate some legit buzz I think. Or maybe I'm crazy.

I get the feeling they are probably going to give a better push for the Snow C.A.T. at SDCC because of the slow pace of funding for it. I wouldn't be surprised to see reveals for snow related characters so that people on the fence will see that there is more to come that will compliment the Snow C.A.T.

Anyway:

Snow C.A.T.

6,851 / 8,000 (+7) 85.64% of funding goal with 31d 15h left.

HOO-BOY! A single digit daily increase this early? Definitely not good. SDCC can't come soon enough to hopefully promote this a bit more. It is still going to fund, and I am still optimistic about the tiers, but these kinds of days make it tough.

A Flint winking head can put this thing over. Ninety percent of people aren't making an elaborate battle scene. They're going to have Flint making breakfast and giving Frostbite a wink while Frostbite nods back in approval because he knows what happened the night before.

More weather-appropriate characters will be good for this thing, I think. It's the first vehicle that's really tied to a specific biome. Naturally, the first thing collectors do with something like this is think about how they're going to display it. Right now you've got Snowjob and Snow Serpents, and that's it. Collectors have to assess this on its current merits - which means no Jaye and no Flint. Without them, it's a struggle to justify what you even do with this besides just... own it.
If they show off more mainline or retro card snow-themed characters, that will really help, I think.

I’m trying to think of repaints of existing sculpts that could fit in with the arctic theme. They’re not going to release a new body with arctic gear if the first source of that is locked tiers. I’m thinking most long sleeved characters could with with arctic variants. Low Light, Airborne, Beachhead… this would also be great opportunity to make a Shipwreck in his knit cap and sweater look.

Flint served sausage for dinner also?

IF they do Iceberg, and IF they do him the way they did Night Creeper (adding the head and hands for the V.2 option), then his balaclava would match at least.

I like the Snowbunny Baroness idea. I forgot there was a Baroness coming with the last HasLab. Is Cover Girl the only female in the line releasing so far this year?

That would be insanely huge. I had the vintage one and had to unload it.....it was just too big. (I also used to have the Mobile Command Center and the Phantom X-19....but they were all too big to keep for too long).

Armadillo, the Rolling Thunder driver, was a mediocre vintage figure, but I think he could really benefit from some Classified reimagining. I bet he'd turn out pretty cool.
