I don't enable Best Offers on my listings. When I get messages from people through eBay, I usually get a "reply with offer" option like in the screenshot below: (and yes, this was a real question to me regarding an auction style listing that was at 9.99 lol)

Oh yeah, he's totally lying. What difference would it make to the other seller whether the guy gets his money at all? Unless him not getting his deposit back stopped him from buying from that other person? But even then, why not just drop the guy and move on?

Sounds like a total Liam and Dante move. Can't remember if you said the company sided with you or not, but if they did, I'd just block 'em both. Ain't got time for his bullshit. Or, if you can afford to send the deposit back, I'd consider it if it were me, if only to get him off my ass. I know it's the principal of the thing, and at a certain point you're just in it out of spite, but at least for me, my need for comfort outweighs all else.
