Selling Toys - Horror Stories & "Happy" Customers

What a complete dumbass. I'd be surprised if he doesn't escalate that immediately with eBay because they're the ones that auto-sent a message to mail back the item. He's clearly got the brain of a chipmunk, but when you run a business you have to plan for people with the brain of a chipmunk. So it's kind of eBay's fault.
He's still a fucking chump and a clown, so I'd keep it, resell it, and tell that guy to fuck off.

I still can't believe this guy listed the reason for returning as "does not match photos / description", and then mentions in his written reason "seller did not mention it didn't come with undamaged parts." Like, no shit Sherlock...that's why the description tells you TWICE to look at the photos because that's what you're getting. Buying something marked "used" should also require a bit of detective work...i.e., looking at the provided photos lol

I'm leaning towards keeping it and using it on a rainy day. I could sell it at a complete loss for gas money if I wanted to at this point, since I've already gotten value out of it. Meanwhile, fuckin mooseknuckle or whatever his username is (moosemystro, I think) is about to be out $317 AND no figure whatsoever. Absolutely bizarre set of circumstances. It's not my problem, but if I were him I think eBay would be hearing from me immediately on it. That's a big chunk to lose for nothing.

B. Fuck that guy. If people can't do the bare minimum when it comes to something simple like online purchasing, they deserve what they get. Case in point. I made an eBay purchase of what I thought was a Lifeline torso. When it came, I realized it was only for the shoulder holster. I didn't read the description, so that's on me. I'm out the money, and I'll deal with it.

I think on two occasions, I bought something thinking it was 1/12 scale, when it was 1/18. Didn't even occur to me to contact the sellers and explain that I deserve a dumbass discount.

Exactly! I agree. I think if you shop on eBay enough, you're bound to accidentally buy something thinking it's one thing when it's actually another. Especially when the price is too good to pass up and you rush it. You just have to take the L, as the kids say, and use it as a learning opportunity to be thorough next time. Especially on a used figure that is $300+. We're not talking about mass-produced Funko Pops here.

I would absolutely understand this dude if I had only posted a stock photo of the figure or something, that would be grounds for being mad. But I can't be bothered for buyers remorse. Mrs. Smallville told me that he probably brought it into the house and Mrs. Mooseknuckle saw it and said "nuh huh, that shit goin back" :ROFLMAO:

Seems like there's zero chance there's a Mrs.

100%
Allowing for the fact that he's dumb, he still has a legitimate case against eBay if, indeed, they told him to return it and then AFTER that told him they were resolving the case in your favor. In that scenario, I genuinely think eBay owes him the money. He followed their instructions. A lawyer would eat them alive on that fact alone. And for what amounts to an absolute pittance to them, they'll probably just give it to him to shut him up.
You just gotta hope they don't reverse course and go against you just because they realize they fucked themselves.

He's a fucking clown. I can believe anything from clowns. Two Trump presidencies taught me that morons will say and do anything just because they're dumb, dishonest pieces of shit that take no accountability in their own lives.

That's why I would try to sell it as fast as possible, assuming ebay could come back at any point and say nevermind, refund this dipshit.

It probably worked once because he had a legit case, now he'll just keep using that each time.
