SDCC Exclusive Savage Land 3 pack (Rogue, Sauron, Shanna)

When I ordered my set this morning it didn't say preorder. It said in stock and they charged me immediately. So I'm wondering if they'll hopefully put more up for preorder like previous years. That would be the way to go.

Putting a character/figure like Shanna in a convention exclusive three-pack in the first place is an absolutely trash way to treat your loyal customers. This isn’t our first rodeo, and it’s not Hasbro’s first rodeo. Everyone involved knew from the jump that this outcome was not only possible, but likely.

I’m not going to beat my chest and say that I will never buy another Marvel Legends figure, but between the debacles with this set and the Psylocke set, I’m going to do my damnedest to buy as few as possible. I’m just filling in very specific holes in my collection at this point. Most of my toy budget will be spent elsewhere.

Not to mention the last Shanna was also behind an exclusive con boxset.

I don't want too many of the Rivals looks, but Psylocke I'd grab.

I think the Rivals figures will all be unique sculpts.
I feel like this is true, and I think it's going to irk some people to see dedicated sculpts for these video game designs. That game has been such a huge hit though, so it makes sense for them to devote the resources to it. At least Luna Snow is a new character - hopefully the figure can pass as a comic version.

To add insult to injury, I just took out my original ML Shanna (from the 2005 SDDC set), and it looks like the lower torso has yellowed…or was it always a mismatch from the flesh tone on the rest of the figure?

Just looking at this makes me cringe. The years my buddies and I spent getting into a non-existent line at 3:00am to maybe get a ticket to get into the Hasbro booth. I never got a ticket. Never. However due to ingenuity, luck and one year getting literally and accidentally knocked into a glass case by a Hasbro employee in the display booth area (no joke) I managed to get the exclusives.

Yeah same when I ordered mine during the short non-premium window yesterday. Now it says it's released August 20th. That's a weird window where I can't tell if it's just slow shipping or a pre-order, lol. Not like they are making and sending them out in 20 days, but it's also a long time if it's in-stock before actually shipping. I guess that's on-brand for HTS though.

I'm all for Rivals waves and Snap waves if they are just like the Magic the Gathering wave - basically comic designs that fit right into my collection. The Snap game has so many classic characters already I'd be down for a whole wave. Especially if that means a lot of dedicated money for design and implementation.
Here's just a few characters that appear in their classic comic looks or close to it.

It's all anecdotal, but it does feel like all the Hasbro exclusives have been easier and available the past years, and now there's a difficulty spike.

Every year before this on Pulse, you had a 5-10 minute window for every SDCC Exclusive for General Release. If you were at your computer when sales opened up - you got one. Even the Retro Hulk.

This year something happened with the storefront, and its probably not coincidence that they recently redid it. Knowing that there was some issue, I hope Hasbro considers a second run of Made to Orders. Not an every year thing, but what happened yesterday was clearly some sort of outlier situation.
