The general folks.... I mean... there has to have been some issue with inventory or a scalper bot or something. This is nuts.

@Reno Thanos Psylocke seems not that rare in stores now. Sure someone here could help.

Those people are lucky because they were gone everywhere in central Virginia within hours of hitting shelves. EVERY store sold out of all four they got, and most stores didn't even put them out until this past weekend or early this week.

No for sure... there was literally no line o Saturday and the only tging that had sold out was the Pre-Release set of Magic cards. There has to be another alotment coming up for sale. It seems impossible this is all they had.

I’ve been on the way out with Hasbro anyway…and mass market retail lines in general. We’re in August, and my Marvel Legends purchases this year have been Husk, Marrow, Banshee, She-Hulk, and Psylocke/Thanos. That used to be a month’s worth of Marvel Legends purchases for me, and acquiring a Psylocke/Thanos set was one of the most unpleasant experiences I’ve had in 25 plus years as an adult collector.

There... what? Was this sale some big mistake? some inventory bug? Was it not in that high of demand at the Con?

Right before the exhibit hall closed on Saturday evening, I simply got in line at the booth and bought a set. It took about ten minutes. As far as I know, they never sold out. Real easy.

As I was standing in line, I was told the G.I. Joe exclusive was gone for the day but they would get more in for Sunday. I don't collect other lines so I didn't pay that too much mind.

It seems to me like they had plenty at the show. I don't know what's going on here.

I bought a Thanos Psylocke set for a guy I work with. Should have bought more. I’ll look if more are around tomorrow. That was a few days ago.

I stressed about the Psylocke set for days, finally found a full shipment of four, and all four had terrible QC. Psylocke's hair was pulled back on one, and the other three all had random black dots on her face. Hard to find toys are annoying but QC issues on top of that is just soul-crushing.

Yea pretty upset I renewed premium and had zero chance.

I still think the premium membership is worth it for the free shipping. The preorder window’s been hit or miss, particularly with GI Joe stuff. There’s just tons of times when I’m not preordering $75 or just want a safety preorder on something. Their power days sale was pretty weak this year though.

I did manage to checkout cleanly today though and had enough time to even edit and change things so I didn’t realize how lucky I was getting. Not possible without the membership, and selling off an extra Sauron would probably pay for the year.

The black dots are just paint flecks from the face-printing. They usually just wipe right off.

I hope people aren't actually harassing the employees on Twitter. Marketing and Design department talent has nothing to do with website operations, but I would imagine the people still on that platform aren't the most tactful, intelligent, or well-mannered.
