S.H. Figuarts Marvel Figures

I'd love to see them tackle Hulk and Wolverine. I'd be nervous about scale with most of the rest. I'm still going to try to slot these into my Legends collection.

I don’t think I’d be able to resist a Hulk figure, but I’d be hard pressed to do the same with Wolverine. The legends Gamerverse edition is already pretty definitive for my needs. Also these figures scale a little smaller as it is, so if we’re not careful, a Wolverine release from SHF might be a bit of a monkey’s paw and could easily be as small as some of his 5” scale counterparts from 30 years ago

Wolvie will be the size of one of those little DBZ figures I see at Target.

Before anyone points it out, yes, we know it's video game Wolverine

The FOMO is starting to kick in with Spider-Man. The hype train just keeps building momentum. This may be a “Buy First, Then Decide” purchase for me.

If I were a betting man, I'd guess Iron Man is next, but it would be cool to see them surprise with someone like Doom. Whenever they get to Wolverine I just hope it's after I have the Hasbro one in-hand as I have high hopes for that figure to the point where I don't think I'll need a Bandai version.

@CTV if you Google superhero yearbook photos:

What time do SH Figuarts figures usually go up for pre-order? Is there a specific time they go live? Or is it random?

I was hoping that this line would blend in with my MAFEX and Marvel Legends setup, as I'm more of a one-definitive-version collector, as much as I can be. It still might in some instances, but they really are leaning into the Marvel vs Capcom aesthetics (unlike Legends who are just making Legends style figures), which makes sense, and is pretty cool for those that are fans and want game specific figures.

Echoing sentiments on the over engineered hips and legs, though they might read better in person, when the figure is only 6 inches tall on your desk.

This Spidey does look like a lot of fun. I'm excited to see his whole loadout.

Ninjak - From what I remember from setting an alarm to grab SHF Star Wars back in the day, it was 3am EST, 12am pacific time, which I think was 4pm in Japan. However, a couple of import sites would launch theirs later on, sometimes up to a day or two past the official time.

I’m guessing this will be available in all the usual places and you won’t be in danger of missing out. Pretty sure Cyclops is still available in most places. With the tariff and shipping situation, it probably won’t be as advantageous as usual to try and get it from Hobby Link Japan/Ami Ami/Hobby Genki/etc. if you’re looking to import from them. I got the SHF Scarlet Spider off Hobby Genki and the difference in price was negligible after shipping compared with BBTS, and that was before the latest policies set to go into effect Friday.

According to Kaiju daddy here in the states it will be around 4pm GMT which for us here in the states is 3am EST. Good news is that he’s a general release and shout be available everywhere in large quantities

Cyclops is sold out at all of my usual haunts. With Spider-Man, I'm staying up.

Is there a reason to buy from Japanese retailers right now? We've got all of these pre-orders set up for our imports that as far as we know may never get to us, or even if they do may end up costing as much as they do from American retailers where Cyclops is still readily available.

I got a Cyclops pre-order in with AmiAmi, but I'm leaning towards going with BBTS or Amazon for Spidey until all of this tariff and de minimas nonsense gets sorted out. Cyclops releases in December supposedly, and I'm only half-sure I'll ever get that AmiAmi order shipped. Mafex Rogue ships in a few weeks probably and it's looking like we're all going to have to look to get her from somewhere other than Japan.

That's the million-dollar question. BBTS's Cyclops pre-order is about $40 more than Hobby Genki's Spider-Man pre-order (we don't know what BBTS will charge for Spidey yet). When you factor in shipping, they'll be pretty close.
Purchases that previously entered the U.S. without needing to clear customs will require vetting and be subject to their origin country’s applicable tariff rate, which can range from 10% to 50%. For the next six months, carriers handling orders sent through the global mail network also can choose a flat duty of $80 to $200 per package instead of the value-based rate.
Spider-Man lands just outside that six-month window (end of February). Japan's current tariff rate is 15%. At $60, that's about $9. You'll get hit with the tariff regardless, either through BBTS or customs.

Obviously this is all subject to change on a moment's notice.

So I have no fucking idea. Neither does the White House. You're gambling one way or another.

I suppose that's the reason. That's the price AmiAmi already has listed for Spidey, so buying there tomorrow night should still save us $30 or so. We're essentially gambling that Customs will get their shit together by February for Spidey. That seems likelier than not.

We could also do a backup Amazon order since those are easy to cancel. I think Cyclops showed up there about a week after he went live on AmiAmi, and he's still available there even now. I should go ahead and get a backup order for him right now... 🤔
