S.H. FIGUARTS General Thread

Aragorn just wants his Narsil back, man. It really tied the room together.

I was actually thrown a bit by how human the Hobbits looked in the Jackson movies because of my Rankin/Bass childhood. Always thought they were more crittery. I think I remember a person from Toy Vault that worked on their 90's pre-movies LoTR line said as much as well. I still have my Frodo around here somewhere. He kind of looked a small middle aged man.

Anywho, I wonder how well the SHF LoTR line will blend with the Hellcat Gandalf/Aragorn or Miniwork Aragorn. I've been thinking about grabbing one of those. I'm thinking the SHF might be too slight, though.

Never seen it but the red-suit girl looks fun. Tons of expressive faceplates.

They just fully revealed the new Harry Potter figures. I have to say, I have been waiting almost 20 years for a good figure of that Triwizard Harry. Apart from the glasses being molded to his face, he looks great. The likeness is pretty decent if you ask me. Voldemort looks great too. The fact that they come with the priori incantatem joined spell effects is something I've always wanted with figures. More pics here:

How much should I expect that metal build to run?

I wish they were making a Shinji, too. Much easier to justify the trio. As is, I might only get Rei.

Where'd you get him from? I can't even find him anywhere besides BBTS and EE, and they don't get theirs until next month. Checked multiple Japanese retailers but couldn't find him at any of them. I'm guessing the film didn't do well or release at all in Japan and that's why retailers there aren't carrying him, but I don't know that at all to be the case and it's just a guess.

I got mine from Nin-Nin Game. Maybe he was another one of those exclusive jobs that Bandai likes to do every now and then, like the original Yoda and Mace releases, hence not showing up everywhere..?
 
Prices are getting crazier. Casca is sold out at HLJ at $100 (which will be $120 with shipping) and $120 at BBTS. Crazy expensive for what she is. And Voldemort is $150 at BBTS! Absolute madness.
 
Thought I'd get Rei, and maybe Asuka, from AmiAmi today. That didn't work out. I guess I'll check the smaller import sites tomorrow.
