Remember Resaurus?

I had the Duke Nukem figure with the RPG backpack that was introduced in Duke Nukem: Time to Kill. That was a great game btw. I hope we are blessed with an Anniversary Edition soon. Land of Babes needs a rerelease too.

It’s a shame that we’ll never see any brand new games because this entire franchise is somewhat tangentially tied to toxic masculinity and no one in their right mind would make a Duke Nukem toyline or video game in today’s climate. We might still get Mortal Kombat and Call of Duty games out the ass, but Duke Nukem was a whole other kettle of fish when it came to hyper violence, sexualization, torture and mutilation. It’s the kind of game that would get you immediately cancelled.

I don't even think most hyper violence is a problem for people with games anymore. The sexualization of disposable female characters and the generally slimy vibe the series has around that part are the real pieces of baggage Duke has, but if you put out a Duke game without that whole aspect or, even worse, added a competent or meaningful female character to the game lore, the Gamergate chuds would go super vocal about it and they're your main potential audience for a Duke Nukem game at this point.

Probably best to let it lie. It's been 15 years since Forever came out, a game that spent nearly 15 years in development hell. Unlike pogs, some 90s things just aren't meant to last.
