Power Rangers

I'm not sure how old this set is but I'm just discovering them now. Anyone grab the 1/12 scale "Power Squad" figures? The look really nice but judging by this review, they are little more than statues:

My priority has always been the TV show versions and Hasbro treated the MMPR fans pretty well before punting away the license. I still believe they could have kept the LC line going for a little bit longer while they trickled out 95 movie figures. I actually kind of hold out a bit of hope that Hasbro DOES do those figures someday. I'm probably going to pass on these, as nice as they look, the price and the the fact that they're basically statues being the big factor.

OK, PR thread, back to collecting dust.

I was tempted, but they are too tall to go with Lightning Collection.

I like that I scrubbed that review and I ended up right where he states if he would recommend them which results in a long Ehhhhh.

Good summary.

Never saw those before and that was definitely whiplash going from excited to sad.
I got rid of all my Power Rangers stuff, but to this day what I really want is GOOD 1:12 movie Rangers. Even though I absolutely watched the entire show, for whatever reason the great memories and nostalgia attached most strongly to the movie. Watching it with my little brother. Playing with the McDonalds toys, which remained the best action figures of the movie Rangers for.... ever? Like even now, maybe? I was so incredibly disappointed that Lightning Collection just never bothered.

I looked at the new Megazord at Target the other day but my enthusiasm vanished when I realized even if I wanted it, they would street date me - it was 9/30.

Might go back for it on a sale - one oversized Zord is probably all I need. :) And I want the new Rita! The new toys' chests are just too big. I know that's an Auto-Morphin' tradition, but these don't do it for me.

I like the auto morpohin gimmick for the nostalgia. I wouldn't be able to tolerate the barrel chests on a modern figure, but I collect the vintage auto morphin figures and get a kick out of them. I recently completed the set including the HTF series 2 which is made up of White Ranger and the new Red, Black, and Yellow Rangers.

I need to dissect those vintage auto morophin figures one of these days. I say that because staring with the Zeo Rangers, they engineered them so that you didn't have to manually reset the heads after you morph them. They just go from helmeted head to unhelmeted head at the flick of the switch. That's so much cooler, and if there's any chance I can rig the originals to do that, it would be morphinominal.

That is a cool improvement on the newer ones how easy the flick is. Mine have lived decades with the civilian identities on display, so I'd never use it. :)

In fact, I don't have a single Ranger on display with their helmet on. I haven't set up my other shelves since I moved the "stars" to a more central shelf, but this really makes me happy.

I still need the Ultimate Rita & Remastered Billy. I shoulda fucking grabbed em for $60 each on Amazon back in July, but I was trying to be responsible with the money I'd gotten from selling all my unwanted Transformers in a lot. Sigh...

Where's that Rito from, @Schizm!?

Belgium!

Found him on Etsy and he's absolutely worth it because he completes my main character line-up. He has no articulation and I did have to glue pieces back on after shipping (which is no surprise - these pieces are bone fragment dainty) but he's so great and beautifully sculpted and better painted than Hasbro would EVER.

Switch out Rito for Scorpina and this is my LC display as well. I love it because it feels so complete to me. I don't need to to get any bigger.

Pumpkin Rapper is one of my favorite monsters and he's coming out today when we decorate for Halloween.

A couple weeks ago I finally found a lone smiling Jason head from the SDCC set on eBay, I got the guy to come down $10. Really happy too get get it.
