You guys know I loves me some Monster Force, but this line is so oversaturated now that I have to accept my enthusiasm was almost entirely powered by anticipation of Wave 2. It's been a minute since they announced something I was really excited about.
Like, O:MF Wave 3 has the Ambassador (which is cool but diminished by locking the Lovecraft head in the all-in bonus pack) and I guess Mr. Legacy. Every so often I wonder if I want Dr. Rand, but realize that if I have to talk myself into it, the answer's "no." Thirteen Ghosts so far range from wildly over-designed to underwhelming, reveals for the actual designs of Agent Harker and Red Riding Hood left me very deflated, and there's no chance I'm buying into the Gridiron vanity line of soldiers. Soldiers of Fortune are mundane and under-equipped for the price, and I'm still waiting to be impressed by the Raven Society.
Crimson Moon is kind of cool, though. I just don't have the nostalgia for Palatoy to get me on board.
But these skeletons are just boring. The crazy mix of modern military and horror that drew me to the line has been boiled down to "we gave this one a machine gun," and it takes more than just giving him a name in the description to make a unique character figure. I'm not even excited for Stryker, since he looks like he's just Air Force General Brown.
