Operation Monster Force

we’re now seeing reuse again in the Rocketeer stuff.

Are there pictures out there? I've only heard mention of this, but really like the design of the characters in their Longbox Heroes line.

To be honest, I'd really hoped they'd ally with Devil's Bargain and make 6" Bullet Man and Black Jet figures.

As always, Preternia has it. Rcoketeer seems all new I think. Black Phantom and the troopers are reuse from MF.

Thanks, @JakeEkiss "Longbox Prestige" Heh, I like it.

I really do like those troopers. Something about the pseudo-Nazi gasmask heads I find really intimidating.

I'll have to let these percolate. Monster Force already has the Aerial Assault Sleepwalkers, so I don't really have the display or story space for these guys, but I do dig 'em.

Managed to get the purple Eraser when he went up today. Looks like he went pretty quick. I really wish they’d cut it out with these limited con exclusives.

I mean yeah, as far as con exclusives go they aren’t must-haves. Which begs the question, why not just a clear version of the Eraser instead of this purple one? Has to mean a clear variant down the line, surely. That’s the obvious color variation to do on an invisible character.

The purple is because certain people with purple eyes can still see him. That's why the Forgotten King kidnapped them all, and that's why The Donner Party is after him. One of his decendants has the special eyes and got kidnapped. All that being said, a total clear would be cool.

I'll never hear the term "special eyes" and not think of the iconic "my brannnnd" 1-800-CONTACTS commercial.

If you know, you know.

Now back to Monster Force.

These kinds of exclusives aren't for me, but it does make me wonder if Eraser's clothes turn invisible too? There's a cool hexagonal pattern on his uniform that I guess you could say was a stealth field emitter or something, but I kind of hope it's not. I really love the gonzo of this line, and one of the funner elements is that they're vampires, werewolves, and Frankensteins who all just use conventional weapons and gear. The idea that there's an invisible soldier who still just straps on gear is hilarious to me and I love it. Here's a dude who takes the time every day to roll up his uniform sleeves and THEN re-wrap those exposed forearms in bandages. This line puts such a smile on my face.

I don't think they've actually said, but my headcanon is that he has to take off his gear every time. lol

Naked invisible soldier has a certain impracticality to it haha. That was the one thing I did like about the Blumhouse Invisible Man reboot was that the invisibility was technology based. Having a suit that does the invisibility loses some of the monstrosity of the character but the practical trade offs of the character not running around naked all the time makes more sense. I like to think the Eraser is a mix of both. He physically turns invisible but has a suit and gear that will turn invisible with him, not unlike Marvel’s Invisible Woman.

I definitely think that's what' they're going for with his camo pattern being the little hexes. I assume it's their version of "unstable molecules" or whatever, some sort of reactive fabric that takes on the properties of his skin selectively.

We got a close up shot of the General (and definitely NOT Carl Weathers), assuming it’s at least an early production sample.

He’s one I have on preorder who’s supposed to hit somewhat soon, but I’m just hoping it hits at some point after this tariff stuff gets sorted out, because I don’t know if I want him bad enough to pay double or whatever they’d charge.

Anybody remember the 90's Sci-Fi channel show "The Invisible Man"? He had a special gland implanted that secreted a fluid that rendered him invisible for about an hour. Solved the clothes problem.

Nice.. I ordered a couple - one to be my General Ross in my Legends display the other to be General Hawk in full dress for my Joe display.

One Joe Colton head is going straight onto an extra Grunt body I have waiting. I'm trying to decide what 'adventure team' motif I'm going to use the othe Colton head on... maybe a modified Frostbite?

The Lavarr Burton/Carl Weathers love child head will have to find a home elsewhere.
