The translucent effect NEVER looks good. It softens the sculpt, and just draws ugly attention to the joints and seams in the figure. Especially when it's built off a buck with pins.

Moreover, it doesn't really capture the way the character was usually drawn, even if it is closer to the intended effect or how they would "actually" look. It's kind of like how, yes, Iron Man's armor is supposed to be gold, but I want my figure to be a garish, bright yellow.

If Hasbro takes a shot at an opaque Iceman, I'd be thrilled to add him to the collection. Seems like a "cool" (I kill me) candidate for a Maximum figure. Ice-effects galore and an ice-slide, like others have said.

Also would love a proper "classic" look, with squared off features like he had in the 80s (pretty much how he looked on "Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends"):

I'd also REALLY like him to have the "frosted over" look and not be see-through.

They really did Bobby dirty with that three pack from a few years ago. That should have been a slam dunk for me, but that Iceman was just so bad.

I'm someone who generally hates updates / re-do's / alternate costumes of a-list and b-list characters, but I'm very disatisfied with the Bobbies that we've gotten. My favorite might actually be the AOA version. The secret wars version is just ok. I'd be up for a Maximum version of Bobby with a nice ice slide. I don't need alternate looks, just one good standard powered up version.

I really want a powered down Bobby Drake figure - there are probably multiple costumes I'd buy for that actually. I don't know how many more powered up Iceman figures I need, but I'm a sucker so will probably buy any improved version they release

I DEFINITELY want the SMAHAF with the faceted look. I think they could make it look right with a partial translucency, but it clearly (npi) isn't easily done. The Mafex one is very close, but is obviously too dark and clear. It would have helped if they frosted it somehow with paint or a Matt finish.

I've been away from this thread, so catch-up time:
Reb Brown Cap - sure, but only if I get my Bixby/Ferrigno as well
Toro - sure, but after a better GA Cap and Bucky - don't need too many of the other GA characters
Karma - classic training suit, and I would be fine with her sharing a body with Rahne.
Namora - maybe?
Blackwing and Squid I don't know much about so would be a pass.
Iceman - I'd love both an original snowman look, and the powered down light blue X-Factor costume (assuming we get human Beast and Angel in their X-Factor unis)

Wouldn’t object to a premier Iceman. A frosted later version would good too. However, a Maximum version with ice effects would be awesome.

Day #446 - Skull the Slayer

Would I buy? Yes, but not a priority
Which version? The classic look with the skull belt is fine, the modern look with the tats is interesting. The glowing Blazing Skull persona would be totally cool

How about a Skull the Slayer/Killraven 2-pack?
