One A Day 2.0: Day #163 - Maximus Boltagon

I'm surprised he has that much support. I never came accross him when reading comics as I have not read the complete Avengers run. I am amazed he has had so many more appearances than say Bengal with the modern characters. If the X-men and Spider-man never ran into them, I may never have seen them besides the Handbooks. I wonder how well he would sell.

wonder how well he would sell.
See, I’m generally of the mind that a good figure of an iconic-looking character will sell. And while “Rawhide Kid”, specifically, may not exactly be iconic, “cool action cowboy” totally is, and “cool action cowboy who ‘goes’ with my Spidey and my X-Men” even moreso.
This is a big reason why I don’t just *want* classic Gene Colan Dracula, I actually think he (and the other classic 70s Marvel monsters) are a smart thing to put in the line, because Dracula/Frankenstein/werewolf/mummy/ etc are totally iconic just on their own, and a cool toy of a cool monster (that actually materially resembles the pop culture image of said monster) and can “fight” Iron Man or Black Panther? That is objectively awesome even if you’ve never heard of Marvel’s 70s alt-output.
So I do think a cool cowboy who can ride with Ghost Rider would probably do pretty good.

Cowboys never appealed to me as a kid. Dunno why. I came to appreciate Westerns much later, but that's a more nuanced than cowboy worship.

I'd pass, obviously, but I think he should be made.

Cowboys never appealed to me as a kid.
I can relate to that. I also got into *some* Westerns later, but John Wayne has given me a visceral “ick” my entire life, even before I found out that he was a disgusting fascist prick, so “cowboy culture” was never really my thing until I saw Tombstone in the theatre as a kid.
That said: I *did* always love Zorro and the Lone Ranger specifically, so, like “superhero cowboy” did always kinda do it for me.
Germain to Marvel Legends, I am much more about monster iconography than cowboy iconography, but I do think they’d both have some retail popularity just by being what they are.
Also, while I never read “Slap Leather” and I’ve heard it’s not exactly nuanced and affirming in its treatment of LGBTQIA+ themes, I did love watching all the comic-bros cringe in repression and discomfort when that series came out.

Day #37 - Stranger

Would I Buy - Yes, but not a priority
Costume preference - the more colorful spacier look (pics #7, 8), not the X-Men look or the blue suit look

Stranger is just cool, and has an imposing, striking look.

Rawhide Kid - absolutely! Two-Gun is also my top Western want (and Red Wolf & Lobo, if they count as "Western") but RK is up there. Would love to see some cowboys in the line.

The Stranger is also a yes. I'd prefer his figure be large, but I don't need him at the full height possible (see that last pic Beamish posted, or his Infinity Gauntlet appearances). 8-10 inches would be my ideal. I actually really like the modern redesign (2nd to last pic) but imma need him classic aka without pants, please and thanks.

Yes to the Stranger. One of the few cosmic entities that does more than stand around ominously. Trading card look preferred, although the image immediately following it isn’t too bad either.

I want the Stranger for sure... preferably in the costume in images 5 through 8. That figure would be so welcome on my shelf. Obviously he needs to big... like the size of that Coipel Thor or Terrax maybe...

Stranger from his MU Handbook era (look) would be an instant buy. Though I wouldn't say no to some of those modern looks as well.
