Day #22 - Frankenstein's Monster

Ok Hasbro, we all know you're systematically updating all of the ToyBiz figures. Where are the monsters? I've said this for years, as have many of you: Frankenstein's Monster, classic Colan-esque Dracula and Werewolf By Night have a broader fan base than just us ML collectors because of their resemblance to classic Universal horror movies and because horror characters have their own fan base who purchase anything even slightly horror themed. Simon Garth/Living Zombie may not have the general appeal of the other three because he doesn't have a classic film doppelganger, but he is still a horror character and would sell well. Put them out every year and market them just right and they would sell. Alter the colors. Partner with Hot Topic. It's a definite solid marketing/sale plan that is being wasted.

Some other standard-size characters who'd be good candidates for a wave like that: Ulysses Bloodstone, Elsa Bloodstone update, Living Mummy, Manphibian, classic Daimon Helstrom, Scarecrow, Tatterdemalion, Witch Woman, Devil-Slayer, even Mephisto.

Definite Yes, to a classic Marvel version of Frankenstein Monster. I still have my earlier version, and while not a wholly bad figure, is off scale, and could do with an update.

All of this. I would enthusiastically rebuy those figures in a 4-pack all over again. Heck, add in the Living Mummy or some damn vampire Wolverine if it needs to be anchored with a “Big Name” character, but just get it done, Hasbro.

Love it! Great call. He'd probably be a bit under-scaled, but this is definitely one of those cases where I'll take a slightly inaccurate version of a character when the alternative is not getting one at all.
