Didn’t see a topic for this, so thought I’d create one.

Are there any more planned releases for the ‘90s movies?

Also, I see there are a lot of different releases (four packs, singles, two packs) for the Turtles between the 1990 movie and Secret of the Ooze. Are the figures actually any different? Google AI says the SOTO ones are more “goofy” but not sure if it’s hallucinating that.

I don't think there is anything else planned that we've seen right now unless there is a Kevin Eastman garbage man rerelease. I thought I remembered hearing something about that but I may be pulling that out of thin air.

The SOTO figures are definitely different but I have a terrible eye for details like that, but I remember reading about some of the differences at some point.

Are the figures from the same movies the same, though? It looks like for the 1990 movie, there were different releases — a VHS four pack, GameStop singles, and then Walmart two-packs. Are those all the same?

Also, the accessory sets and the street scene are crazy expensive on eBay, kind of shockingly so.

I did see they’re re-releasing the 1990 Turtles with the spirit of Splinter but missed it going up for pre-order. When pre-orders come in stock, does NECA usually have any extras they list for sale?

I think they were the same but maybe someone else can chime in who knows more. Maybe some different accessories? I missed out on the accessory set but have the street diorama. I keep thinking they will rerelease that accessory set but so far nothing.

I think it is a possibility on this one because it's the turtles and they know they are always going to sell.

Aside from slight variations to the colors of the bandanas (most noticeable across the different releases for Donatello) they've been the same. Donatello's bo storage may have been updated too from a soft goods ribbon to a molded harness. The newest two-pack of a battle damaged Leo vs Shredder finally updated the hips from the old hinged peg system to ball sockets on Leonardo, which the Secret of the Ooze turtles use. As far as I know, Shredder is unchanged. He shares a body with the Foot ninja that have been released. I think there are plans to re-release the 1990 turtles this year along with Kevin. I would guess a re-release of the SotO turtles will follow at some point as well.

If I may "uhm actually" you a moment for a minor detail, the Turtles got the updated ball joint hips in the 2-packs before that pack. If you look for the sets that have a production number ending "23" (the code above the UPC) then you got figures with ball jointed hips. I actually found the Raph and Mikey set locally and bought it to see if they had updated them...and indeed they had! I had to use eBay for Don and Leo though, but if you can get the seller to take a photo of the UPC and you can confirm the code, you'll be sitting pretty.

What about the SOTO VHS four-pack? Does it have the old or new leg joints?

The SOTO VHS 4-pack has the ball hips. Weirdly it was the 2-packs that they had up for order at the same time that still had the old style hips. I'm hoping they get another run of 2-packs out though cause I'd like to get those updated hips for another set of the SoTo Turtles.

Speaking of SOTO, will we ever get a Paige Turco April? I wonder what the hold up is.
Didn't NECA comment on this back when Randy was actually out there talking to people? I could have sworn they/he basically blew off the idea because of the fact that a lot of fans just outright reject her as April and they don't feel like a figure of a non-Hoag April would be popular enough to warrant the licensing. Am I literally making all that up in my head? Someone help.

No that sounds like Randy. But it is completely stupid reasoning. They made Keno and Danny for fuck's sake. People just want to complete displays at this point and she's the April from that movie.
