NECA Mirage Comics line

Most licenses have a sell-off period anyway. I think Playmates basically has until Q2 2027 to deliver product so NECA probably would too. Either way, I think it will be pretty obvious which way things are going at San Diego.

Since my area was like a Haul a Thon void this go around, I finally saw some Turtles yesterday minus Don. I was on the fence mostly because of the comments I was hearing about the limited leg articulation. I bought Raphael to sample because I liked his mouthy expression and I have to say, I'm not as excited about this one in hand as I was when I found the Lawson Turtles. I really like the Sakai head sculpts, but that's not convincing me to rush out and buy the rest. Maybe if they hang around long enough for me to casually buy online or of Target's shelf.

So the new Daimyo Orkai and Raptor 2-pack went up on BBTS, and I really want that Raptor... alot. But I have less than zero interest in the Orkai figure and the pack is $72. I don't really want to buy the set and try to unload just the Orkai. Any chance someone wants just the Daimyo? Yeah... thought not.

They're from The Wanderer story, Mikey's made-up foes for his OC to do battle with.

This seems like a set destined for the BBTS clearance section a year from now, unless it's being produced in very low numbers. The price combined with the obscurity just doesn't seem like the smartest business decision.

Ah okay. Yeah that’s a set I can ignore. I would love some Battle Nexus characters though. And I’d also like to see more members of the Federation and the Triceraton Empire. Then after that I think I’m good.

I'm not extremely familiar with a lot of the Mirage stuff, but I do hope we get to see a few characters before they lose the license (if that's what's happening)...I don't remember their names, but one of them was a bad guy who could dive into asphalt of something to escape? Sort of like jumping into a mirror. And he could travel that way, I think. And there was a woman who helped the Turtles fight him, she had a silvery outfit with black hair, or something like that.

It's been decades, sorry for the poor explanation lol

I'd also like to see the giant Leech that ate from Raph in one of the issues, but I think I read somewhere that story was written by someone who didn't let the rights get out, or something? So we might not see him.

I'm not that familiar with Mirage, although I do love the designs. More of an Archie TMNT guy, I suppose.

Carnage and Radical. They're probably the biggest characters from the original Mirage issues that haven't been done yet. Hopefully we'll see them this year if they keep putting out pre-orders like this.

That's who these two are? Carnage and Radical? That's awesome, their names were lost to me millennia ago lol Took me a few minutes just to find this cover. I had no idea they were popular, but it makes sense as they left a lasting impression on me.

I was very young when I had this book, and young (stupid) me looked at the black and white drawing of Radical inside and thought she was naked. I thought I had a naughty "grown up" book I shouldn't have had, so I used to hide it. Turns out I actually had a grown up book I probably shouldn't have had, but it wasn't naughty lol

Yeah, that's them. They're not really major characters or like super popular (they never made the leap to cartoons like Renet, Savanti, Nobody, etc.) but they had multiple appearances in the Mirage books and are the last secondary heroes/villains of the early issues that NECA need to do so with the current reveals I'm hopeful we'll see them sooner rather than later.

I don't know if I'd call the color wrongbased on that. That cover image makes it look like it could be reflecting the lighting of the scene. They did do Renet in red initially which was apparently based on the recolors with the blue planned for that ill-fated exclusive program at Walmart, but I doubt they view this release as a potential double dip. It's a more interesting version of Savanti Romero, but not one I need.
