NECA - General Thread

Aw, heck, that was the Babyface Killer figure I was probably aiming for. Maybe just a lack of interest? Looks like I gotta track down the Toony now; haven't seen the wave or any of the WWDITS wave in big box stores yet.

Distribution on the Toony Terrors has gotten really weird. A buddy of mine found Colin Robinson at his Walmart (they apparently had a ton of ONLY him). The Walmart near me has a bunch of Laszlo, but that's it! I guess I'll have to go all over the place to find the whole wave.

Likewise, the Walmart closest to me has Phantom, Invisible Man, and the Bride for the UM Toony Terrors, but no Creature! As far as I can tell, they never received him! I've also seen plenty of both versions of Art the Clown, but no Grabber or Babyface anywhere.

I've seen Shadows at a couple of Walmarts in the normal NECA section in electronics.

That's where I've seen them, but only ever a bunch of one character. My buddy said his Walmart had about a dozen of Colin, and mine had about seven of Laszlo. It's very odd.

Yeah, the only place I see them, other than local comic shops, are my two local Targets. One of them only has Art, and the other only has a couple older ones they've been sitting on for ages- Victor Crowley, a black and white They Live alien, a Hocus Pocus one, and maybe a UM creature that makes its way out of the back room. Then again, it's not just Toonys; NECA distribution at my local shops are pretty bad all the time. It'll be long periods of nothing- I'm talking 3-4 months or so, then a slight little restock of mostly older product- then nothing. I was really excited when I went to Target yesterday and saw the NECA pegs full from a distance, but up close, it was almost all Hooper from Jaws, Ardeth Bay, a TMNT figure or two, and a full peg of Lambert from the Alien 40th. All those, save Lambert, were ones that were already on the pegs before, just now there were more of them. Our NECA rep- if there even is one- must have greener pastures elsewhere.

I got an email last week from NECA about a blind box for Vault items. I impulse bought it and it came today.

I was hoping for more TMNT stuff or horror stuff. Honestly, kind of disappointed. Not sure if any of this is truly “vault” stuff or like stuff you’d find on discount at Ross.

Apparently, the Simpsons REM figures are pricey. I need to fund all these Mondo figures coming out now, so definitely selling those.

Found the Munsters Herman at one of my local Targets yesterday; they also had an inexplicably stocked Chucky and Tiffany Toony Terrors that hadn't been there before. Nothing else new, though. Went ahead and grabbed Herman. He's got some heft to him!

Yeah, I got my set last week. They're great, expressive figures. BUT...they might not make it here if we don't get Lily and Eddie at the LEAST. Might be sold off real quick like.

What a crime it would be if we got more Rob Zombie Munsters figures from NECA than the OG cast. I doubt they'll go as deep as Diamond Select did; they also had the benefit of coming with those diorama pieces. But I've got my fingers crossed; Marilyn may be a tough sell unless she's in a 2 pack with someone else, but I can see all the others working.

I have the DST figures with the staircase (I don't think I've sold them yet), so I didn't bother looking at the NECA versions for the reason you mentioned.

Guess I'm hitting all the Targets on the way home today. Not gonna lie... Even if we don't get to complete the family I'm super stoked to finally own a Herman and Grandpa.

Saw both Herman and Grandpa at my Target today. Will grab them when I can, but they look wonderful. They also had the black and white Orlok, which is the first I've seen him in person.
