NECA - General Thread

For all we know, he could be on our shelves right now, we just can't see him.

Got Samurai Predator today. Damned good looking figure. I love the effort they put into this braids / head tentacles and how they work on this figure.

Hello? Sesame Street? Big Bird, where art thou?

Didn't NECA say at least BB was going up for preorder before Thanksgiving?

Yeah, seriously. What is taking NECA so long with this line? Since the next set of figures are supposed to be out in Q2 2026, I think they will go up for pre-order soon. I hadn't heard before Thanksgiving. That obviously didn't happen, but it's gotta be any day now, right?

BTW, there is a Muppets thread with more talk about the NECA Sesame Street line plus the Boss Fight Studio Fraggle Rock line and the dead DST Muppets line.

It’s because y’all keep posting pics of Bert and Ernie waving guns around in people’s faces, NECA’s desperately trying to convince Children’s Television Workshop to please please please let them release the rest of the figures but they need certain assurances they won’t be seeing Oscar and Big Bird holding gatts out the window of the Ramen Racer!

(I made that up! It’s more fun to assume there’s some crazy dramatic reason they’re not coming out instead of “Target decided to focus on ‘Welcome To Hawkins’ as it’s Fall Event and held their NECA items until Spring Haulathon” or “regular old production delays”)

I genuinely think things aren't all that rosy over at NECA. These tariffs might legitimately be killing their company. I say that, but the slowdown really did start with them before that child diddling dipshit took office, so who knows?

Their output has been awful this year, and as we all know, that takes a while to get moving, so these few things would have been in the works well before January.

Toy Fair is going to be interesting and revealing.

Those issues with their warehouse must have set them back some too. That Donatello's lab roll out was a disaster. They needed a reset, but unfortunately they're still having problems. I don't get it. I do wonder if the Sesame Street stuff sells as well as we think it does. There's a lot of enthusiasm for it here (and back at the Fwoosh), but I don't know how well it translates. I see them linger about as much as anything these days and there's plenty to go around online. Toy Fair is going to be really interesting next year. That was NECA's biggest showing in 2025 and if they don't have a similar one in 2026 then I'll start to feel a little nervous about how they're doing.

Get this.

With that whole Art the Clown fiasco from the other day, they respond to my email with the following:

Hi Rick,

Thank you for reaching out! We sincerely apologize for the mix-up. We’re currently reviewing your submission and will follow up with an update as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience while we sort this out.

In the meantime, if you have any other questions or need anything else, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re happy to help!

Best,

Yoshiko

So, my response to this was:

Good evening,

I'm sorry, but what exactly is there to investigate?

Order XXXXX-XX. SKU NE45251-01 x 2. Terrifier Art the Clown 7" Scale Action Figure (PRE-ORDER). 34.99 price tag. 69 dollars, 98 cents total.

That is what I ordered.

I've attached the images in my initial email. You can see in my account what I ordered. You can see in the image what I received.

You can also look into my account and see the standing that my account is in. I have never complained, I have never returned anything, I have never filed a charge back. Look at how long I have had an account, look at how many orders I have placed, look at how many are currently sitting in "Awaiting fulfillment".

I am not trying to pull some sort of fast one here. Your warehouse did not fulfill the order I had placed, you put something of LESSER value into that box, and the truly infuriating part was putting the items that you actually packed into the box on the packing slip like I wouldn't realize or keep records of the things I have ordered.

I want my money back. I no longer want the items, so you are going to give me a refund of exactly $69.98 or I will be contacting my financial institution for a chargeback and reporting fraud, because that is exactly what this is. I do not want this item you sent, I do not want the two figures that I ordered, because I already received them from somewhere else at this point.

I have been an outstanding and loyal customer, but this is becoming a habit for your warehouse, and it needs to be addressed. You don't do this to people and expect them to just take it.

You screw up and send people multiple Donatello's Sewers and demand that THEY fix the problem, well it's your turn to fix THIS.

Yowza. I'm sure Yoshiko is giving you the stock reply and has no authority to actually do anything apart from send nicely worded emails, but it would be nice if that person could at least say "I have forwarded your order to management for approval of a refund," or something like that.

I'm technically still waiting on a replacement satellite dish for my TMNT street scene dio and Leonardo's left foot. Neither is ever going to happen.

I just saw yet another post where someone received a second movie Mikey a week after the first. Not only are they giving away free figures, but they are paying to ship them separately. Complete and utter clown show there.

I'd say they're doing fine given the push they have on things like Terrifier and TMNT, and now again able to get out some Pennywise figures. And again with the Ben Cooper success. Tariff BS definitely slowed everyone down, and I'm sure they're having to rethink release schedules and tooling costs. I expect they'll scale back, if anything.
