NECA - General Thread

Very excited for the Munsters. That was something I was hoping for for the longest time. The Rob Zombie versions were really colorful and looked great, but I had no connection to -those- versions.

And I don't think Universal is dead at all, not sure why anyone would think that. Especially since that's the kind of stuff that totally would be best shown off around Halloween. but who knows.

I'd prob be more inclined to Adams Family than Munsters. Munsters were for a 6 year old Rabbi / Pancham / Maestro. By 8 my tastes had refined to the Addams Family. Very sophisticated.

The Turtle Monsters, of anything shown, are guaranteed to come out.

Is this insider knowledge they’re actually getting released or am I missing reading “they have the best of chance of anything to be released”?

Because I need that Metaluna Krang and the “Q2 2026” release date is giving me terrifying flashbacks of Coldstone and Macbeth having a “Q2 2025” card at Toy Fair

In Pixel Dan's walk through of the turtle stuff with Trevor, he said those 2 should go up in late 2025/early 2026.

I wonder if NECA isn't pulling back and being cautious in light of the tariff situation in this country. Not putting as much stuff in the pipeline at the factories, or holding off on development as they try to suss things out. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but it was just such an uncharacteristically unexciting con for them. I imagine Target and Walmart are something of a lifeline for them while this is going on, and they may end up catering to them even harder if it lasts (the federal appeals court is hearing arguments this week over all this nonsense, finally).

They do seem to be in a weird place. Feels like their bread and butter, horror, has really slowed down. They’ve also had to cancel some lines that weren’t performing and then you have all of the tariff nonsense. I wonder if they missed out on some licenses or couldn’t get approval for some other things in time for the show?

I wish I could believe anyone at NECA be it Blaine, Trevor, Randy, or even the occasional Stefan when they say “oh yeah that’s totally coming!” but I’ve been hurt too many times by them before.

I’m still in deep denial about Coldstone and Macbeth never coming out and still hoping there’s a chance the line gets revived when a certain someone just doesn’t wake up one day and tariffs go away… but deep in my heart I know that’s not gonna happen. Predator fans have been living this pain for the last seven years hoping this is the con AvPR comes roaring back, but it never will be.

We’re not getting the rest of the Classic Munsters unless they can also be made by slapping a new head on a movie body…
“Middle of next year”/Q2 2026 is just code for “Monster Turtles is dead”

We’re not getting that Wolf Predator, ever. He’s gone to action figure Hell with the Shaw Brothers, Coco Bandicoot, and Vegetable Gremlin. Dante, Kratos, and the AvPvDC two packs give us false hopes NECA will make “cancelled” figures suddenly out of the blue, but they’re the exceptions that prove the rule

Why are you assuming so much?

Again, Turtles ANYTHING will be released. You can bank on that. They have not cancelled a TMNT item yet.
That’s why Giant Krang has been on the check list for two years and on my shelf none of them, also sewer kitchen when?! How about that Toon Last Ronin?! Just because they don’t say “oh that’s canceled” doesn’t mean it’s going to come out anytime soon if ever… I just really want that Metaluna Krang and “Q2 2026” is so far off it might as well be a fake release date, I hope it’s true and next summer I’m enjoying the hell out of all three repaints, but I also thought based on the placards and Blaine answering questions at cons I’d have Macbeth by now so *shrug emoji*

IDK, I’m not even saying I don’t trust when a NECA rep says “oh it’s coming” as a negative smear on the company, I love NECA and buy almost everything they sell, just I’ve been burnt too many times to believe them a product is coming until I see a pre-order go up.

Last I spoke to Trevor, both kitchen and Krang were still coming. Pricing them out before was difficult. Even more so now. Also, the ghost Turtle bros were shown around the same time as the Toon Ronin.

Those JUST came out. Breathe, man. Breathe.

Toon Ronin was also more like an Easter egg planted inside the display, not fully revealed. I'm sure they intended to kick the tires on it, but it might have also been more of a gag. That's one where the Playmates release might have scuttled it for now. There's definitely been no shortage of Last Ronin since. Krang and the kitchen are clearly pricing and logistics related. They botched the release of Donnie's lab and probably want to put some distance between it and the next piece. The only turtle things NECA has shown in the past that are almost certainly not coming are the video game Traag and Granitor and maybe that jumpsuit movie April.

and Vegetable Gremlin
I try to take heart in the fact that they keep eking out releases in this license when they could've dropped it years ago. In fact, I just noticed on BBTS that they're re-issuing the Bat Gremlin again. I still remember how unexpected and exciting it was when they revealed that the first time, after it seemed like the G2 line was dead. But yeah, Veggie's the one still glaring omission from this line, and I'll keep holding out hope as long as they keep dropping a release or two each year.

Wasn't there also a melting witch Gremlin? Gremlins is one of those lines that I'm quickly obsessed with as long as I am adding new figures to it but if nothing new comes it becomes one I don't care so much about.
