NECA - General Thread

NECA can't be dumb enough to leave that out, can they? Or is this "The Game" stuff gonna mess it up? Does he have it in the game?
JTM uses the fire axe as his main weapon in the game. The weapons became swappable, but they never had the guitar. But by the time development ended due to the Jason rights lawsuit, the Lazarus ship was being planned as a stage, so it feels safe to say that the guitar would have at least been an environmental kill for the stage. That game was extremely attentive to famous moments from the franchise.

But I think NECA's well aware that's like the iconic JTM weapon anyway. The likeliest accessories for a JTM figure are the fire axe, the guitar, and the harpoon. Possibly a wrench too from the sewer scene, or even Julius's head. I wouldn't say no to a big ol' toxic waste barrel, so common in Manhattan even now.

Did the game have his unmasked looks too? I've got two of most of the Jasons to display both ways...
Yeah, that was actually a way of tracking damage on Jason. There was a very specific, elaborate killing method, and doing enough damage to get his mask off was part of it.

I honestly thought that these were game renders. They definitely don't have the realistic approach to their previous Jason figures. But they look good. I dig em.

Yeah, the Hell Jason makes sense that way, only being from the game, and JTM also has that glossy sheen in the movie because it's got that very late 80s neon grime aesthetic. JGTH definitely stands out as clean-looking to me compared to how he looked in the movie. So, I don't know. It would be weird if they totally based their deco for two sequel Jasons on the game look, I'm curious what's going on with this.

They look as realistic as the costumes, plus these are only RENDERINGS and we'll see the real figures at the con hopefully, they're definitely just using the game as an umbrella to be under. Which, right on. Fuck all these horror movie licensing issues. Now if Nightmare could get the same treatment...

Clever work from NECA. I'm tempted to ask if they'll get away with it, or if the figures will be cancelled before they can be shipped, but I have a feeling this will work out in our favor in the end.

I thought the licensing issues were pretty much over for this one? Feels like the Friday merch floodgates have opened again, plus they finished filming on that Crystal Lake show late last year.

Even the game's development ending was largely due to the way online games are classified legally - the way I saw it explained was that any content added to an online game is considered effectively a new publication for legal purposes (where most merchandise wouldn't count as that), and newly published content for the franchise was halted because of the case.

Interesting these are all specifically from "The Game"...must be some sort of legal workaround?

Anyway, Jason X or we riot.

They look super good but the navy outfit version seems top heavy and is standing kinda weird...

It’s gonna suck if these Jasons being from “the game” mean the box flaps are just pictures of the videogame models in a black void like Samurai Predator, the poster covers were part of the whole deal, man!
