NECA - General Thread

This isn’t just NECA. It’s the USPS being sabotaged from within. The Midwest currently is a place where packages go to die. My place of work has had multiple versions of this happen lately.

Not only do I always get my packages here in the Midwest, I've also even always gotten them from NECA. Not that I order from them unless there's no other option, and they did send me two Hammer Draculas, but I've never NOT gotten something I ordered on their site.

Yeah, the USPS is having issues. The non profit my wife works for ships human remains (ashes) to families, which have to travel by ground and be signed for at EVERY CHANGE OVER,, and they've had 4 boxes go missing for MONTHS, with the USPS not being able to find them until months later, and 1 package go missing COMPLETELY, and still has not been found.

Well, Grandma always said she wanted to see more of the country.

Sucks Gargoyles is dead. I think it was Blake at Toy Collector magazine that confirmed it a couple months ago along with Dinosaurs and Flash Gordon. At least with Gargoyles we ended up with a pretty cohesive display (poor Dinosaurs fans got the baby and a few Earls), just sucks a few of the characters are forever in the outstretched wings look (and you have to rebuy Broadway if you want his closed wings).

What'a worse a missing Hot Toys or Grandma's ashes? Don't answer, keep it to yourself. I don't want to judge anyone.

Grandma did have a good run 🤔

My paternal grandmother wouldn't dare have had herself cremated for fear that one of us would have used her ashes for cat litter.

My father in law was cremated, and my wife, sister and law and I joked that it would be hilarious to color rock salt black and put it an an urn to salt the sidewalks during the winter to see what the neighbors would say (yes, we do have a dark sense of humor sometimes).

Black salt exists! You don't have to color it.

An old topic, but this seems to confirm that the Gargoyles line is indeed dead at NECA:

Man, I reported on this like two years ago, and got called a liar. I had heard Walmart stopped ordering the line back then. Such a bummer, too. I think we could all take a swing at what caused the demise of the line, but...truthfully, I think it just was a case of a property not as popular as we thought. Only true hardcore fans.

Sad to see it go, but I will say at least Gargoyles got the core characters finished. There's a lot of lines I started collecting I'll never see the full cast of, but at least I can put the original characters, their main villain, and recurring allies on a shelf together. Better end than many niche lines.

I would have gotten into the Gargoyles line, but the wings stopped me. I would have just gotten the main clan anyhow, but I didn't like having to pick up other figures just for a part. I would have rather paid extra for articulated wings. But they just looked too unwieldily.

Sad to see Dinosaurs won't continue, but not surprised I guess. I really wanted a Robbie though, I really wanted his figure as a kid but never got him.

I wonder what else is in store for them, and if they'll expand on their NBX line at all.

Can anyone point me to the timestamp where they say Dinosaurs is done?

I mean, I figured as much, but just curious.
