NECA Archie Comics Line

Hopefully they can wow us with some standard turtles at least before Neca loses the license. At least, I'm assuming that's what will happen with Mattel holding the master now. Hopefully I'm wrong on that. I grew up with the cartoon, but my nostalgia goggles focus in the most on the Archie comics stuff.
 
I've been seeing the single releases of the Wrasslin' turtles at every ROSS around here. Some stores get up to 8 figures, some only 2-4. But, I will say, they've been selling through. So either they're finding their market (I mean, $15...c'mon), or scalpers are stupid and buying them.
 
I randomly came across Black suit Raphael at Ross today. Even though I already have the four-pack, I got him. Just seemed right since it was the only one there and I’ve always loved that look in the Archie comics since I was a kid. Would’ve been great if they could have included an alternate head, but then it probably wouldn’t have been as affordable. It’s pretty nice looking packaging, so I may keep it sealed.
 
They're so cheap that they're probably easy money for scalpers. Some may be speculators too as if this is the only avenue for release they could have some value for the patient, not that I would advise on making such a wager, but for $15 plenty of folks will.
 
I have the Archie set already, and several still sat at my Target for months even recently. That said, I wouldn't mind having an extra Raphael because he looked great in that all black suit, and I'm fairly jealous of those of you who have access to a fabled Ross store. I will never see those figures in person to buy. It's not even worth the hunt as Ross stores are pretty non-existent in my radius.

I also would grab another Raph if I came across him. I'd have like to see a swap out torso, sometimes in the comics if he was relaxing he'd have his torso exposed, reminded me of Spider-Man and the symbiote (though I guess that was sort of the point lol).
 
Gary from Sneak Attack Toys is on Toy Anxiety and he had the El Mysterio figure (sent to him by Trevor I guess). He "joked" that "Oh, woops, this won't be coming out..."

Obviously hoping that won't be the case if there's actually a produced one out there.
 
NECA did announce the disguise toon figures today and solicited a wave of Mirage figures like a month ago, so there’s still hope. I’m assuming they’re losing their license at some point in the next year, but probably still some stuff that’ll get out before that.

I'm still hoping they can find a pathway to continue with Mattel (clearly Mondo have with MOTU) but if not it's been a good run.
 
I didn't realize the El Mysterio figure hadn't been solicited. For some reason I thought it was available to preorder already. It was probably going to be a tough sell even if it was almost 100% reuse so I could see them opting not to go forward with it. Especially if the license is ending as they likely want to prioritize other characters, but maybe it's already been produced and is just hanging out in a warehouse somewhere waiting for its moment in the sun.
 
Glad they’re able to finish up the Mutanimals. I wonder if they’ll ever get the Turtles done. Too bad they’re moving so slowly on this line, but it’s nice that we’ve gotten what we have. Especially glad that they did the Wrestling versions of the Turtles first.
 
Really hope they can get Ninjara done before the end (if this year is the end).

A set of basic Turtles would be cool but I'd almost rather a set of Future Tense Turtles if they can only do one.
 
Maybe there will be some stuff not shown before that will be announced soon, like with the Mirage figures from a month or two ago.

Would be kind of absurd if they don’t do the standard Archie Turtles before the line ends.

If they don't have Archie turtles at comic con next month then my guess would be they're not happening. Hopefully they do though. Leatherhead plus the turtles would be good enough for me to call it a collection.
