NECA '87 Toon TMNT

Nostalgia Unboxed (is he going by JN now?) has been an asshole to me on numerous occasions. He can die in a fire. I definitely would not take his word on any one or anything, lol.

Yeah, Nostalgia Unboxed. A lot of people just call him Johnny Nostalgia (I think Hatter may have even started that). I've always had good interactions with him, but that sucks that you did not.
 
I wasn't planning on getting them, but I was at a local Target today and they had 2 sets each of both vacation turtles and granny Bebop/baby Rocksteady, and I grabbed a set of each.

I had just gotten a Teeny Tinies sweet shop set with various ice cream treats, and they just go so well with these figures.
 
I know the old saying is ā€œif everyone you meets an asshole, maybe youā€™re actually the assholeā€ but Mad Hatter and Nostalgia Unboxed both rub me the wrong way.

I had written a whole rant about why, but I deleted, I donā€™t want to be a negative person anymore (Although it mostly boiled down to: why mad at ā€˜flippersā€™ in 2025?!?! And charging for paper crafts is TACKY)

On topic:
I thought I lucked out when I got Granny Bebop and Adult Baby Kink Rocksteady during the ā€œ$10 off $40 saleā€, but then I went into a physical Target and saw them, the Evil Dead Ash and Cheryl 2-pack, and Hammer Van Hellsingā€¦ Had two Red Card offers THAT STACKED, for $15 off an $80 total purchase and $20 off if you buy $90 of electronics/collectiblesā€¦ AND I Got the Buy 2 NECA Get 1 Free offer, so if I still consider B&R a $55 purchase, I got Cheryl and Ash for $20 off, AND a free Van Hellsing so I could display him with his coat offā€¦ not a bad deal! (And Iā€™ll just return the B&R I bought online later)

That's a bummer to hear. I've never had any interactions at all with him - but he always struck me a lot like Robo; generally upbeat and positive and unlikely to be rude or mean to anyone besides the occasional weirdo pro-AI right-wing trolls that crop up.

I think it was SDCC 2024, and a Hasbro panel (Transformers, maybe?). It's in the first few minutes of the video, as I turned it off immediately after his behavior.

If you meant the other channel's video where I "complained" about him, I can't find it in my comments history just because I leave so many, and I don't remember when this was lol... šŸ„ŗ

I know exactly what you're talking about. I've seen him do it on the McFarlane panels, too. If he's not heckling then he's whispering to the camera snide remarks about what's being shown, or sometimes even "ha, this was what I told everyone about like 2 days ago". Stuff like that. Just very pretentious stuff.

I appreciate that he's big in the community, and he's earned that spot, but the content can get tiring when it's full of backhanded compliments and elitist behavior. It's all toys, we're all here for the fun, no need to be condescending about it.
 
"Big in the community' is almost a backhanded compliment anyway. Like, wow, king of the nobodies.

My Target's NECA section was immaculately groomed today. I barely recognized it!

Restocks of the Pizza Club Turtles (although I never saw them there... so maybe they just found a box of old stock?) and tons of NBX Jack Skellington. Target has 25% one toy right now which works on NECA. The Target across town had signage for buy 2 NECA get 1 free, though their section looked like it was hit by a hurricane and there wasn't much worth picking up.

They also had plenty Baby/Grandma B&R.

depending on your willingness to talk to an employee and face the possibility of being given a stern ā€œnoā€ by a 20 year old, you can show the casher a photo of the Buy 2 Get 1 signage from a photo from another store (or even the reddit post) and theyā€™ll enter it manually for you. May want to give it a shot at your well stocked Target and see if theyā€™ll honor it.
 
I ended up picking up the vacation Turtles two packs despite the fact that I already have the SDCC set. The little things that Neca does to make my brain nag me to go in on the two packs despite having the 4 pack are sinister. Like you can't get the matching cap with his initial on it for Raphael unless you already had the SDCC set. Of course the big one is the fact that Mikey looks out of place because he has no shirt. Neither version of the Turtles was 100% satisfactory to me so I ended up caving. Luckily I got them on sale so that made it an easier pill to swallow.

I like the fact that with Donnie, Mikey, and Leo in the 2 packs they are wearing a more pastel version of their signature colors. Raph is wearing pink which I guess you could say is a pastel version of red but I think the paler red shirt from the SDCC set reads more Raph when they are standing on the shelf. This whole thing is kind of just a headscratcher to me as to why they even released both of these so close to each other. At least it appears they were all manufactured at the same time or close to it because the skin tones match so that head swapping is an option.
 
I wasn't expecting it after Walmart cancelled my NECA Tokka Rahzar pack, but Target/NECA came through and I got the Accessory Pack for $10 off. Pretty cool. I remember this thing selling out in three minutes the first time around. What a cute set! I have so much nostalgia for the pizza monsters episode.

I thought that too, but unlike Robo who always tries to be positive even when he has complaints, NU LOVES badmouting companies he doesn't like when he's complimenting their competitors, and when I tried to be all "can't we all just get along?" he fucking went off on me, and one of his little simp cronies joined in.

That fire he can die in can be on the train tracks where he got run over by six trains first.

And then Art the Clown came in & noticed he was still twitching, so he poured bleach & salt all over the mangled remains.
