On a potentially related note, NECA has been sending out emails for past exclusives for sale on their store, including the ‘87 toon Newsroom set and the Mirage Turtles four pack. Could be nothing, but thought it was interesting.

I’m personally hoping they list something like the Sewer Lair or movie street set diorama, which are both like $600+ on eBay.

The NECA signage. I don't know if they bother with shelf tags save for when they do a Haulathon type drop.
 
I doubt very much they're dropping NECA altogether. Or either way around, however that relationship works.

But man, NECA is going to need to really go big on something if they lose TMNT...

I don't think NECA, or the collector spot, in general is going away anytime soon though individual stores don't always participate. Could be my store might drop collectibles or they're changing their floorplan. With their current CEO though who the fuck knows? It sounds like collectibles fit into this new niche they want to occupy and as vendor stocked items it's pretty low overhead. If they were to drop the section it would probably be more about optics and who they want their customer base to be. Get those greasy Funko boys and sweatpants wearing Hot Wheels guys outta here!
 
I wonder if any of it will be difficult to obtain. I personally most excited about Sakai Turtles.

Last year I was able to get everything off the Target app on the Fridays throughout March and April they went up for the Haulathon. I don’t remember any of them being hard to get but that Shredder sold out kind of quickly.

Yeah, the FOMO and fervor for this stuff is not anywhere near what it was when Haulathon first started.
 
Continuing my thoughts from the JoyToy thread, if NECA is likely done with TMNT at the end of the year, I would expect to see them do another run of toon and movie turtles. Those always seem to sell out so I would think they'd want to get one last payday for some of their most popular figures ever. If we see a summer time preorder for such a thing it could be yet another indicator of the company's plans going forward.
