Naughty or Nice by Fresh Monkey Fiction

Pirate for sure. You slop up her look a bit in terms of garish makeup and she could go with Mall Santa. Zombie version is low hanging fruit. Winter is Coming version. Maybe Gremlin Queen. I mean all of those are mostly repaints, maybe not do all in one year but I would be surprised if we didn't get at least 5 versions solicited.

Is there a female Krampus in any lore?

Agree with the overlay idea.

Is there a female Krampus in any lore?
(puts on nerdy glasses, and takes a deep breath) Well, in the lore, a Krampus is a class of creature, not an individual. I always use the example of elves in the American tradition being similar in that they work for Santa/St. Nicholas, so there are many of the creatures and it only stands to reason there would be both male and female versions. While the earliest depictions of Krampussen were male, in the 19th century the Krampuskarten (Krampus cards) became a fad and featured all sorts of variations of the creature. One of the most popular types of cards featured a female Krampus, who was usually much prettier than her male counterpart. She was usually depicted terrorizing adult men for drinking and carousing instead of going after naughty children.

In more recent years, female performers have created feminine Krampus costumes and have been included in the troupes that make up the Krampus runs in the Alpine countries. This is a fairly new development though, as traditionally Krampus actors were always male, while the women would typically take on roles like the White Angel (who visits ill children) and the Black Angel (who honors the children who have passed away during the year). There are still those more traditional troupes who object to females playing a Krampus, but they are definitely in the minority, with most groups welcoming women into the fold.

So, this is a very long-winded post to answer your question...but yes, there is a precedent for female iterations of Krampus.

Ackshually, the plural is “krampussen”.

🤪
Accurate! Krampussen or Krampusse are the plural forms. While Krampusse is the more common term, I prefer Krampussen because Americans in general tend to pronounce it as Krampussy...and well, that just creates visuals in my mind I don't need!

As for TENIME's question...well....I've only ever seen female Krampussen depicted with two...but I've never dug around in all that fur to find out if there are more!😜

I'm sure. I just thought they'd show a Poe-inspired horror, not a 200-year-old author.
He doesn't look a day over 30. The years have been kind. ;)

But also yeah, interested to see what else will be int he line. I feel like they're definitely doing something with the raven imagery and I'm looing forward to that. I like how wacky and out there BBWS is getting when you take all their lines into account.
