Mortal Kombat Klassic figures by McFarlane Toys

Funnily enough--just got a Kitana shipping notice.

However, the remainder of the set from McFarlane Store?

Sitting in Unfulfilled. Just like me.

I received Kitana today. She's nice, if not a little plain - but I think that's what they're shooting for her. The retro look and feel. McFarlane's older Mortal Kombat stuff that got released with the last game was very stylized to the point it was hard for me to recognize the characters from back when I played nearly 30 years ago now...

The articulation is the typical outdated McFarlane model, though. He really needs to try to modernize in that regard.

It feels weird that I have the "chase" platinum figure before I have any other figure from this line in hand.

Mcfarlane articulation is always weird. Like technically his figures have all the things you want but none of them work how you want them to

I will tell you now the Ninjas are gonna infuriate you because the shoulder articulation is there, but it's murdered by the overlay.

I just saw that I have two incoming packages from GameStop on my FedEx app but they aren’t en route yet and I haven’t seen anything in my email about what they could be. But this is about the only thing I ordered from them beyond the recent Batman Returms figs and those figures can’t possibly be processing yet. So I think it’s my remaining MK figures?

Got Kitana last week from GameStop and Scorpion just arrived. Been waiting to open the first wave together but waiting on Walmart is like a Beckett play. Even in the box I appreciate that they’re not over-designed like his last MK offerings, though Kitana is a bit plain.

God, I hate his articulation. Having Kitana in hand and trying to get her to stand with these stupid ratchet joints is obnoxious. She can barely hold the fans. And she inexplicably has a trigger finger?

Sigh. Todd, this is so easy.

By the way, STILL waiting on McFarlane Store to ship the rest of the series.

I have always wanted amazing MK figures.

The Hasbro releases hold a special place in my heart because they were the first, and just hold so much nostalgia for me.

The Infinite Concepts and Palisades--looked great, but could never find them in nowhere Midwest.

The less said about Jazwares efforts, the better(save the later releases, but then they went back to doughy, soft sculpted ass chunks).

Storm definitely got there, although it just feels incomplete.

Same applies for Mezco.

So...this long history, have always wanted good MK figures...but, I'm tempted to sell these once the rest come in. That's saying something.

If they weren't so goddamn expensive, I'd probably just re-buy all the old G.I. Joe MK figures and call it done, really. So many attempts at an MK line that were either aborted or abortions.

Okay I cracked these two open tonight and... Look, I knock Todd a lot, and sometimes he deserves it and someetimes he doesn't, but he hasn't halff-assed it this bad in a LONG time. I mean, they're fine. For $19.99 fgures. But there's like, no love in these? For all I make fun of Todd's random designs I feel like every one of his figures is fucked up because of an ARTISTIC choice. These are just kinda boring. I mean they're fine. Benign. Nothing WRONG with them. But they are his least interesting offerings I've seen in years.

Especially coming off of Hasbro where they're trying new things with Black Series and legends.
