MONDO Masters of the Universe 1/12 and 1/6

Yeah, the only thing missing from the concept art to the figure is the classic sword which is frankly a non-issue for me. Neat to have but probably not how I would've displayed it anyway.

I actually canceled about $100 of pre-orders to make room for these. Not that it was financially necessary, but I just realized those things weren't exciting me as much as these were.

Well....I'm out. I figured these would wind up being over $100 with all the tariff bullshit going on, but hoped for something closer to $75. I like the overall look of these, though I agree with @Damien that the lack of a classic power sword is terrible. I hate the techno sword with a passion, and there is no way I'd display him with it. Still, I'd have likely bit at a lower price point, and just given him one of the other power swords I have. Things are just too tight financially for me to justify paying this kind of money for almost any figure. Add in the fact that I'd probably feel the need to get at least all of the core characters, and I just KNOW that there is no way I'd be able to do that. I guess I have to accept that the days of me shelling out over $100 for a single 1/12 piece are over.

Yeah, even i am not sure now. Tariff fee AND $44 shipping? I'll see if they have anything to say about that first.

So no "base figure only" for Clawful? I've never been a major MOTU guy, but I love good figures. Clawful looks stunning, but I just don't think I can justify spending $125 plus shipping & tarrif's for him.

edit: Threw him in the cart just out of curiosity and total is $168.85. That's the biggest fuck no ever.

Removing the classic sword is such a bizarre choice anyway. It's not like these figures are truly STACKED with so many extras that something just had to go. And also an accessory like that isn't large or complicated enough to be particularly expensive to produce. Feels like pinching pennies on a figure you want over 100 USD for, which is always going to give me the ick.

OOFAA!!

Seeing these kinds of numbers reminds me of a bunch of times where I was tempted to purchase something from the US only to get to the final order page and see the 60%+ increase in price due to shipping and fees (plus exchange) and having to back away.

Can't see how this line can last at that price with a cheaper, albeit different aesthetic, alternative available.

The removal of free shipping has really thrown a wrench into Mondo's sales. They're so hard to justify, especially when we know other retailers will get a slimmed down version with much better shipping rates. You're basically paying somewhere in neighborhood of fifty bucks for that base when all is said and done and that's just nuts.

At the least, I'm gonna wait and see if they have anything to say or reveal during NYCC, as the deadline for these goes past that. Gonna need free shipping for sure to get me to consider again.

They've done something to the shipping, because it's suddenly $31 instead of $44 on my end.

Also, they are having a livestream tonight at 7 PM Central. They're advertising it as being about the Over the Garden Wall squad set, but I can't imagine they won't talk about these a bit too.

Ooh, down to 320 for me! Wowwww, thanks, guys!

I really expected them to offer free shipping on this. I don't mind the price of the figures, but these taxes, tariff fees and shipping are beyond a slap in the face.

The price is Mezco-level for a much better-looking product, imo, but the fees and shipping are very, very tough to swallow. They don't seem to charge tax in my state, so it's an even $300 for me, but even with a $50 gift card I'm still balking just on principle here.

What are we missing, exactly? That picture is a turnaround, so the only thing missing is regular vintage sword. Regular head, angry head, 200x head, King Grayskull head. That's 4. Axe, mechanical sword, shield. All included. Fists, gripping hands, relaxed hands...they're there.

Disapprove the price all you'd like, but no need to make more out of it than need be. They aren't ripping you off if you haven't bought anything yet. I'd get it if you had already paid and they started to remove stuff. But everything with the exception of one thing that they've advertised is there.

The simple adage is always true: Don't like it, don't buy it.
Is it typical to show the same head twice in the same promo mock ups? I'm not used to companies portraying the same head like it's an additional accessory.

"Haven't ripped you off yet, no reason to complain."
