ML Secret Wars

Human-form Rahne should be easy - just pack an extra head in with Karma. A separate release of Wolfsbane's transitional form would be great - in the classic NM comics I don't think she ever retained any of the uniform when she transitioned, right - just full on werewolf? Her full wolf form is lowest priority for me given the decent options that are out there from other lines.
In a dream world we'd get transitional Wolfsbane and fully powered up versions of Magma and Sunspot, plus human Rahne with a wolf pack in and an alternate powered-down Amara head with Karma. Mix and match those for box sets and single card releases.

First law of the universe is that when your number one, first-draft pick, most-wanted character gets made ... something's up with it. I gaslit myself into being fine with classic Miss Marvel not being Carol Danvers. Godspeed to SD when they finally give him his Jim Hammond.

Right now, my biggest fear with the original Human Torch is he will be in a Magic The Gathering wave and based on the art of Alex Ross:

That would be ... a little disappointing. I want a Torch that would look good standing next to the Invaders, All-Winners Squad and West Coast Avengers. Like so:

I don't know how I'd feel about a Ross Torch that's half flamed on, but I think it would be acceptable. It would certainly make it clear he's not Johnny Storm:

I know it's been speculated by a few people that Hammond may come in a mini comic wave. That would be perfect. He could be holding Marvel Comics #1, they very first comic published by Timely/Marvel and one of the most historic.

Of course, if Hasbro goes that route, he'll have to come with at least one flamed off hand. You don't want to burn up a comic that recently sold at auction for 2.4 million. 😁

Anyway, we now return you to your regularly scheduled ML Secret Wars discussion, already in progress.

I'm using a Johnny Storm as a stand in. The figure is fully flamed on and he DOESN'T have the four on his chest. He looks pretty good standing next to Union Jack, Namor and Cap, so I guess he'll do for now.

But dang it, I want the real deal. The genuine article. The real McCoy. The coin of the realm. The first Marvel Comics character ever created.

Just simply from an historical standpoint, an action figure line that calls itself "Marvel Legends" should have the very first Marvel character.

But will it? Time will tell.

Mine is the Johnny Storm flamed on body with the Marvel Select Hammond head. It works really good for my purposes. I’m pretty sure I’ve showed it off here before.

Got Magik today, really a disappointment of a figure. She can't hold her sword in her armored hand because she doesn't COME with a C-grip armored hand. That whole arm feels gummy as f***, no ab crunch yet again. How is this a $30 figure Hasbro. This BS really is unconscionable. As "great" as SW Daredevil was (let's be honest he could have at least come with some more hands and a tether for the billy clubs, I've got a pile of these lenticular shields I'm never gonna use), Magik; whom I was most excited for, really is a disappointment especially for this price point. The recent Kitty Pryde figure had fewer issues besides height.

I just bought one of those old ToyBiz Wolfsbane figures from the old 90s New Mutants line just as a placeholder. It’s her transitional form and was only a fiver, so what the heck.
I've thought about picking that up so many times over the years but never really had a reason to. With some actual New Mutants figures finally coming out I might have to finally pull the trigger...

Plus side, the yellows match much better in hand than photos or even Kitty in hand. Had to take it outside and all over against different lights, I was in disbelief.

My Magik arrived today as well and multiple joints were both stuck and gummy.
re: Magik - For the first time in I don't know how many years, I had to freeze a figure.
On mine, her right knee is... strange? It bends, but it's not smooth and ratcheted. It almost feels like the peg inside the knee is twisting instead of the letting the knee bend properly.
Magiks arrived from Walmart last night and both have gunk on them visible before opening. One's abdomen has black goo (oil?) on it and the other has flecks of blue paint in the yellow that I can't tell if they are in the plastic or not. Her yellow/blue lines are also very hit or miss, and both faceprints look slightly off - one's left eyebrow is definitely more centered than the other.

Yeah, I honestly might just cancel my Magik order. $30 a pop means I shouldn't have to put up with this. It's a shame, I want a figure of her, but I'm not so desperate to fill a slot that I'll knowingly buy any garbage they release.

I watched a couple of reviews that don't really mention any QC issues, but just looking at them pose the armed arm, you can see how soft and cheap that plastic is if you look closely at them handling it.

I really think New Mutants is the team Hasbro's going to try and complete next.

See, that would be my other first-draft, most-wanted pick. I really, really hope they don't screw them up. I've been pulling for as long as I've seriously collected ML. They're one of the last things I need to really feel like I have every character that matters to me as a fan/ collector.

I'll add to the QC complaints. My Magik was delivered yesterday afternoon and while most of her articulation points work okay, the thigh cut on her left leg was locked-up almost like the peg is malformed. It pivoted slightly, but it clicked and wouldn't rotate more than maybe 10 degrees. I immediately locked her in the freezer for a handful of hours and it seems to have freed it up for the most part, although it still seems to click in a weird way.
But I'll echo others in that overall she feels hella gummy, and the fact she can't hold her sword with her armored demon arm is definitely a head scratcher. Boooooo. Thumb down!

Well... I will say that after getting the knees bending properly, I really like the figure. You shouldn't have to tweak it to get it moving as intended... but it is worth it when you do.
