McFarlane DC Multiverse

Does that one work? I have one I bought years ago when he first designed them, but it looks much larger than that one. I’m not sure that one would be able to balance the big Mezco one.

I took a quick snap of a couple of my Mezco shelves. A lot of the figures here are using the COB stands. I also use it in various other displays.

There is a smaller version that I’ve used with Mafex figures that aren’t flying/jumping, since that one is much smaller than the standard Mafex base.

Received the Page Punchers Jay Garrick from GameStop today. That was a pretty impressive turnaround. I completely missed out on Jessica Cruz. I wasn’t expecting any more preorder announcements after the last couple of weeks, so I wasn’t paying attention. Is she a GameStop exclusive?

No, she’s supposed to be at Wal Mart, Target, and GameStop. Physically. Apparently GameStop is the only place where you could preorder. So far anyway. I missed her too. GameStop website wouldn’t take my payment for some reason. There’s money in all my accounts. On a better note, Jay is supposed to be here tomorrow and the Collector Edition wave is supposed to be here Tuesday.

I received my MTS bundle of Superman, Flash, Ice & Rocket Red. The Collector Edition bundle should arrive Tuesday.

I wanted to go shopping this weekend after finding some platinum figures on Friday. My back was tight so I rested on Saturday & then it snowed Saturday night & the roads weren't cleaned on Sunday morning & I had other stuff to do later in the day. Maybe Monday.

I'm now on my 4th iteration of The Flash, who isn't a character I remotely care about, just trying to find the right one for a basic JLA setup.

I don't even want to talk about how many Green Lantern characters I've got despite really only liking Hal Jordan.

Jessica Cruz review. Nice head sculpt. Would probably work for a non-flamed version of Fire as well, though the style won't match Ice's more cartoony design.

In the past few days I've seen a lot of new DC Multiverse at Walmarts. Zatanna, Pig, Cosmic Boy, Elongated Man, Ice, etc AND platinums. A friend of mine called me and said he was at a Walmart and asked if I wanted Blackhawk platinum? He'll yes I said. I know almost nothing about the Blackhawks but this is such a well done figure. My Targets have NOTHING new in regards to DC Multiverse. I hope i can get my hands on the 2 Page Punchers Flashes.

Best Buy just cancelled my Ice pre-order. She was supposed to ship a couple of weeks ago, so I'm not surprised they canceled the order after such a long delay. Luckily I have her P.O.d at BBTS as well. This is the first time Best Buy has disappointed me though, they're usually great with pre-orders. I think I'll just rest the blame at Todd's feet since he apparently didn't send them the figures yet.

Received the Platinum Pyg. Not in love with it, I think I got caught up in this round of preorders- not a fan of the overly violent/grotesque characters. Not opened. This may be returned. Ralph however, not bad. Big fan of the identity crisis series thus he is a keeper

I just think Pyg is gross and uninteresting in the whole scale of Gotham villains.
Not really a part of my pantheon of Bat villains. He's too much a potpourri of other existing villains, plus why is he called a professor? Just seems like a guy into pigs and butcher aesthetics. We already get enough of "stab you" / sadist characteristics from Zzaz, Black Mask, Hush and others. Didn't bother with this one, plus it's a pretty bland look aesthetically.

I don't know, Pyg does it for me. To be fair, I mostly think of the Arkham Knight or Gotham tv show Pyg when I think of Pyg, and those kind of skirt the line between campy and creepy. Hell, in Gotham he serves human meat pies to his captives while singing a rendition of "Cell Block Tango" from Chicago- man, Gotham was a kooky ass show. A guy who speaks in the third person and oinks/snorts every few sentences while listening to opera music feels very Batman. He's kind of a nice bridge between the old campiness/theatricality and new creepiness of the Rogues Gallery for me, but I can totally see why some folks wouldn't be into him; the more serious, less oinky version from the comics is a little less fun to me, admittedly, but we've only ever gotten one Pyg figure before. I'll try and track down an in-scale grammophone or something so we know he's oinkin' it up to some showtunes.
