McFarlane DC Multiverse

Also stumbled upon Rainbow Batman and the concept made me laugh but the execution made me buy it. The paint lines are uniformly well done! No slop, lines are straight and clean. Also, having red and orange bookend the other colors on both sides creates a very pleasing overall package.

The neck part of his cowl doesn't line up well with the rest of the colors which is the only bummer of this dude. The neck lines are too small compared to the torso. But overall, this one is a win. :)

That's promising. End of 2026 feels like there's more wiggle room than mid-2026. Nice to hear conversations are still on-going too. I doubt they'd let him continue producing the main action figures, but if Mattel has little or no interest in the retro stuff, I wouldn't mind seeing more Superfriends releases under Todd. We also know the man loves his pre-posed statues, so maybe some more DC releases in that regard.

Sorry to quote my own post, but I figured it out - she has no eyebrows! Her eye holes are so big that her eyebrows would absolutely be visible and they are non-existent, giving her already wide-eyed look the off factor.

Poor Babs. She thought the cowl would hide her facelift, but it really just accentuates it. But I suppose it's still nothing compared to all the work the Joker's had done over the years.

Not sure I'm properly sharing the image here, but I would just like to openly declare to McFarlane that if they include a half-dozen extra heads for Olaf, Hendrickson, Stanislaus, Chuck, Andre and, uh, "Chop-Chop", to round out the team of Blackhawks, they will sell 6 more figures to me.

Yeah, things don’t feel quite so squeezed anymore. It’s almost as if it lifts a bit of anxiety off of those of us who don’t want Todd to go anywhere. Fourteen more months is potentially a lot of product.

It’s also a lot of time to talk. Todd’s in the best position he could possibly be in. One of his best friends runs DC. He has cultivated relationships with upper management at WBD. He is in deep with Wal Mart too. Last Friday underscores this. And DCD existed before Mattel took over the first time and ran parallel with their lines. Perhaps DC/WBD doesn’t want to put all their eggs in one basket. Especially where adult collectors are concerned. Maybe Wal Mart likes Todd enough to go to bat for him. Particularly for the collector aisle.

I’m still trying to be optimistic.

A year may not seem like a long time, but since January, I’ve bought 60 new action figures. All DC, all from Todd. I’ve got 14 more on order and 4 additional I need to hunt. Beyond that, the reveals from Friday add 14 more. Some of which will come out in the New Year. Plus a few I’m undecided on. And I’m not a completist by any stretch. There are two and a half months left in this year. The most figures I’ve ever bought in a calendar year before McFarlane was 49 in 2009 under DCUC/Mattel.

We ain’t done yet. 😊

‘Bout time for a new leaked list to hit.

I see no reason why two DC collector lines can’t co-exist, especially if Mattel goes with the ML scale.

I don’t see McFarlane “losing” business to Mattel or vice versa. I think it’s more like a Venn diagram with a circle of McFarlane collectors, a circle of Mattel collectors and some overlap between the two. I’m not sure that removing McFarlane from the equation is going to make Mattel’s circle any bigger. In fact, it might make it smaller. Competition keeps collectors engaged.
