McFarlane DC Multiverse

On the fence about Batman. I want him with a fabric cape. If not, no thanks.

Looks like cloth to me . . .

Looks that way to me as well. But someone on Reddit in Asia had one in hand. Says the cape is plastic. I’m hoping for an honest miscommunication here.

I prefer vinyl capes. I don’t think McFarlane has released a figure with a choice of either. That would be something!

I saw a Facebook post in a McFarlane Collector group I'm in that NML Batman has a fabric cape but it is NOT wired. He was from Asia with him in hand. Disappointing but I will still likely buy both regular and Platinum if I find them.

Heh. Good. Can’t say I care much about wired vs not. Just so it’s not rubber/vinyl/plastic. The fabric capes (IMHO) have been a huge upgrade. I was disappointed Hourman didn’t have one, but Dr. Fate did. Mr. Miracle is awesome, but somewhat muted over the Red Tornado cape. An escape artist should have a flowing cape. Anyway, the blue/gray NML Batman will now replace my Knightfall Batman (probably).

Everyone has their preference. I personally hate cloth capes and all soft goods because I've found them to be absolute dust magnets. My displays aren't enclosed. I've found the soft goods are near impossible to clean without ruining and mostly have to be thrown away with a couple of years, whereas most of the figures in my collection are more than 10 years old. On the flip-side, the traditional plastic/vinyl capes can easily be wiped down just like the rest of the figure. Now you certainly give up some things in terms articulation and such, but for me personally it's really no contest. I also hate how most non-wired cloth capes hang and can look very unnatural. I may be in the minority on this, but I generally have a strong dislike for soft goods on my figures (so no Mezco for me!).

I’m torn on cape material, but what I *do* worry about is the wire in the capes deteriorating over time, because I play with my toys and those wires get a LOT of working out.

Superboy and Wonder Woman page punchers are up for pre-order. Of course the only figure that I want from this "wave" is Steve Trevor and he can't be pre-ordered without buying a case of 5 other figures that I have no interest in.

I go back and forth on cape material. I don't mind plastic capes if they don't impede posing. I like cloth capes a lot but I'm always worried about breaking the wire inside and ruining it.

Superboy sold out quick on those preorders. I nabbed WW from BBTS.

Both still up at MTS. Got in and out pretty quickly. Dropped a $20.00 Platinum coupon on the bundle. Picked a better shipping option because the USPS seems to be having issues.

I’m also very tempted by the Dark Multiverse 2-pack. But not for 70 bucks.
Same. I'll likely only pick this up if it gets discounted at some point. I've got the original blue version of The Merciless and the winged version of Batman Who Laughs, and I'm fine with those. I don't even recall ever seeing the red Merciless costume in the comics and I'm pretty sure that I read and still have every comic from the run.

I should know to keep a calendar of this stuff by now. Page Punchers Superboy.........same old story.......sold out. I just can't keep track of what's all going up for preorder when. You don't have but a couple of minutes to get an order in. Stuff usually drops at noon my time, well, it's 1:41 now. I wasn't even close.
