McFarlane DC Multiverse

In my hunt for the definitive McFarlane Batman.....could this new Alex Ross version be the one? Accessories of any sort would go a long way. Sculpt looks on-point. Hmmmmm......undecided.
 
Been really lean on McFarlane purchases but happy to get that (mostly) classic Poison Ivy. If I can hide the arms in the display, she should fit right in with the 60s-70s Batman shelf. Really great head sculpt too which has not been McFarlane’s strong suit.

Passing on all the other releases. At least they finally made a Batman figure on that bulkier Superman mold though.

Tough to believe, but I’ve got three definitive Batmen…pretty good for someone who’s not that big of a Bat fan:

50’s Batman. The one that came with Ace. He’s my GA JSA stand in. Close as we’re ever gonna get.

Hush Batman. Revised version with the fabric cape and no Kryptonite ring. My overall preferred look for mainstream Bats across 80 years.

Cowardly Lot Batman. Something about the sculpt, the colors, and the design melded on this one for me. Can’t say why because the comic didn’t particularly jump out at me at the time.

The Ross Batman and Superman both look great but at this point are redundant to me. Maybe I’ll change my mind if I see them in the wild.

I preordered the last three Red Platinums drops in store, a day or two after the designated date, and had mostly no issues, others than the marked up pricing they are now charging on Plats.

They called for the first two orders (2 figures each) when they came in, no issue.

For the last order (the three Super Friends figures), I went in to the store because I was suspicious when I heard other GameStops were receiving them and I found Batman on the shelf. I questioned the clerk (in a respectful manner) and they apologized for no one calling. They also had Superman in the back (not logged into the system yet) and they did call when Wonder Woman came in the following week.

Your experience may vary by store, but my advice:
  • If you have an image of some else’s preorder receipt (someone inevitably posts one), that is the easiest way to go. Last time I just pulled up the image and handed them my phone.
  • Don’t pay full price, just leave the $5 per figure deposit. Less risk if GS flakes on you.
  • Keep an eye out online and if you see others are receiving theirs, check with your store. My store had a pretty detailed fulfillment status on each item I preordered.
  • If you run across the figure at Target or Walmart in the mean time, grab it just in case. You can always return it or help out someone else if once GS fulfills your order.
I do look forward to spending much less time at GameStop when McFarlane loses the license.

I appreciate the pointers! Luckily, I'm a veteran in the GameStop pre-order thang. Haven't in a while, though, so provided I'm able to, it'll be like stepping back in time to the good ol' days. I'm also still guilty (despite my best efforts) of pre-ordering something somewhere, then just buying it whenever I see it in store before my pre-order. But that's happening less and less- here in NY, we're the last to get things probably 95% of the time.

Good idea about the receipt, though! If anyone here has any luck pre-ordering him today, would you mind posting the receipt for the rest of us? Or at least giving any relevant UPC, etc.?

Looks like he was up very briefly on GameStop. Had it in my cart and got all the way to submitting to clicking the final button, and then it just hung.

You should be able to use this web page in lieu of a receipt, but I’ll post the image if I see one. And it may come back in stock if you want to refresh for a while…
