McFarlane DC Multiverse

I found a Saturn Girl yesterday and almost bought her to go with my Superboy. But the figure was missing the circular part of her left shoulder joint. Leaving a big gap between the top of her arm and her torso. So I let it there.

For the best, anyway. I can't find the matching Cosmic Boy, so why bother.

If the number of released figures is anywhere near the amount of rumored figures, it'll be an influx in the last couple months. I wonder if Todd isn't trying to kinda subtly sneak his way into 2027 a bit. I'm sure there'll be a little overlap period where both McFarlane and Mattel are on the shelf at the same time, but if Todd were to theoretically make a wave or two and ship it out like early-mid December, it probably wouldn't get to a lot of places until after the holidays. And, in theory, that would be more on the stores themselves for putting them out late, not Todd. I don't know how the contracts work, of course- there may be a set date where any and all new product has to be on shelves, but if not, I could see him trying to prolong the shelf life as much as (legally) possible.

The way I read it implies that this is all Todd has left to get out. He’s got nothing further to work on.

I don’t know how it works, but I’m sure Todd will drag this out for as long as he is able.

What I’m pretty sure of is that any leftover inventory on 1/1/27 won’t be on the toy aisle. Likely it’ll move to the collector aisle. Or the clearance section.
 
Guess I can return the extra Plat Supergirl I got to make Mary Marvel if necessary! Red dress and shoulders she was halfway there!

The Reeve pulling his shirt open is a definite want - he should come with Lois. And is that a Bruce Wayne? I just got all the fodder I needed to make one I saw a good custom recipe for. Hmmm...

Are any new Lex or Sinestros on the rumors list? It's so many figures I can't remember. Absolute Superman is a yes for me - I love that look.

Really hope Todd isn't re-releasing The Batman Penguin figure - that dude is FINALLY gone from most toy shelves. Unless he comes with Cristin Milioti.

Still waiting on a proper 80s/pre-nu52 Power Suit Lex Luthor, a first appearance Joker, Red Rain Batman . . .

Probably going to have to hold out for Mattel for my biggest wants.
 
Assuming this rumor is true about the absolute Trinity, so much for my pet theory that McFarlane wasn’t allowed to make them so that Mattel could kick off their collector line that way.
That said, I think Todd could do a kick ass job with these, if he actually tries. With what I’ve seen so far this year, though, it’s all just a bunch of repaints and reuse, so not much hope.
 
The Absolute Trinity might be able to go with the new Mattel figgers. I couldn't find any stats on Superman but Batman is 6'9" and Wonder Woman is 6'8". She slightly towers over Batman, which doesn't make sense if he is taller but then her boots might maker her taller. Are these figgers going to be taller than McFarlane figgers or range around the same height? It wouldn't surprise me if they turn out to be Elite figgers like the Superman movie figger is supposed to be.

Some of the figgers are possibilities. I didn't see the Penguin show so I don't know if his look is much different from the Batman movie. Penguin is an easy skip for me, I heard the show was good but that movie was awful and I don't plan on seeing the sequel.

It was stated that a Sinestro with his regular/classic costume is on the rumor list.
 
Just Mary Marvel and Arisia for me from these latest leaks.

Saw Bronze Tiger, Aztec, OMAC, Eclipso and two Saturn Girls at Target this morning. That’s par for the course since I went the eBay route for Saturn Girl after I whiffed on the Wal-Mart endcaps.

Two ways to look at this situation:

*Todd is taking care of his loyal customers to the very end. After this, 7” scale mainstream superhero figures are dead outside of Spawn.

*Todd is deliberately spiting Mattel counter to his own best interest.

I’ve never seen a line end before but i can’t imagine stores will( especially as little as Target and Walmart seem to care) worried about pulling McFarlane stuff in favor of Mattel.

Will they just leave the last of the McFarlane stuff on shelves until clearance cycle hits?

I’m still seeing Superman movie kids line as Mattel’s line is being released

Honestly, I’m not sure what’s going on here. In local stores near me, it’s hit and miss. Target seems less smitten with Todd than Walmart. Several local Walmart stores have a very deep product line from McFarlane in their collector sections. Well beyond DC. Overall, Target seems more apathetic towards Todd.
