McFarlane DC Multiverse

The Vault Joker is the original Batman: The Three Jokers figures. It was used for the Batman: The Killing Joke cover figure which was hijacked. Yet some people have it for their video reviews.

I guess McFarlane is done with the exclusive figures like Glow in the Dark, Frostbite, Black Light, Jokerized, Patina or Artist Proof.

Oh NO!!!!!!

;)

Likeness approvals would have already been in on Robbie/Leto for those prototypes. I guess it isn't just one figure, but four different versions so it's a whole wave of production. Still - weird to have ZERO update in six months.

I got my Hellboy and.... They sent the Plat..

Which has less hands, so I guess I gotta find the one I actually wanted.

Did get the onslaught of every other release in Canada, too.

All the Bats. Saturn. Martian. Yadda yadda. I am become what I hate with backlog.

How long does the Drawing Board figures take to receive? The Harley Quinn Drawing Board ended at the beginning of November. If I didn't keep the emails in my Inbox I would have forgotten about it by now. It's been 7 months. Does it take a year?
Someone on Reddit got an update - they are about two months out.

Whelp, someone on Instagram (not one of the usual suspects) has dropped a hint that Todd will be doing Absolute figures on his way out. I don’t know who this person is. I’ve never seen this account before. Trolling or insider scoop are both possible I suppose. Anyway, pound of salt with this one. And no, I forgot to save the post.

I can see it going either way. I'm surprised he hasn't yet, to be honest; the designs themselves scream "Todd McFarlane"; if I didn't know he didn't do them, I'd genuinely think he had at least a hand in designing things. So it wouldn't surprise me if he at least wanted to try doing a figure or two, just to say he did (or to be the first). Given the sheer size of a lot of them, though, depending on who he does, they'd have to be some big freakin' figures, or just severely undersized.

I have a friend who has contacts in China, and he hinted at the same thing to our collector friend group last night.
It's rumored to be Absolute Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman and Deathstroke,

I just have to say that regardless of how I felt earlier when McF came on, and the potential I see in Mattel, right now, in this moment, McF is just throwing hit after hit on my doorstep.

This new Batman wave. Okay, it's all Batman. But the Golden Age is amazing (sad I can't use his hands on Y1), then we just continue down the history book with Azrael, Capullo Bats, and DKR Batman. I always preferred the black suit, but DKR in blue is half the story and many of the iconic quotes and scenes come from that front half. I hadn't done the other DKR figures because of Mafex, but I love this one.

Aztek. Frickin' Aztek. He doesn't look correct in the helmet for my tastes, but hes cool. Main three Legion crew complete, I'll take it. Miss Martian.

And then the Image and Hellboy stuff.

I've been in burnout the past few weeks and literally touching grass and just recentering, and part of that is just appreciating what is hitting and what I've got.

And despite them dropping a cargo container of releases within two days on me, every single one does bring me joy, in art and just being fun to play with.

Picked up 3 McF's today. McF's. That sounds like something a McDonalds employee would say when he's pissed.

Like "I have zero McF's left to give"

Anyways. I got OMAC, Bloodwynd, and Wally West Flash. All look incredible, all very well done, and I am just really enjoying Todd's last year here.

I am simultaneously enjoying Mattel's new kid core line. It is just raining DC on us, and if you are a MOTU fan like me, it's raining MOTU on us. 2026 is just raining all the right rain on my dumb ass.

New stuff here as far as I know:

•A proper Val Zod

•Mary Marvel

•Arisia

•Katma Tui

•Absolute Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Deathstroke

*Analysis:

Mary completes the main Marvels. 👍

Zod is nice to see. Would’ve loved more New 52 E-2 to go with him.

Arisia and Katma will make a lot of Lantern fans happy.

I feel like the Absolutes are Todd’s way of slamming the door shut on Mattel’s fingers.

There’s, what, like a hundred leaks so far, and yet no new actual reveals (other than Vault re-releases) have been shown of anything confirmed actually coming out, with 6.5 months to go. Weird.

So does that "end of the road" imply those are the last figures Todd is releasing? Or just that things are starting to wrap up?

If the number of released figures is anywhere near the amount of rumored figures, it'll be an influx in the last couple months. I wonder if Todd isn't trying to kinda subtly sneak his way into 2027 a bit. I'm sure there'll be a little overlap period where both McFarlane and Mattel are on the shelf at the same time, but if Todd were to theoretically make a wave or two and ship it out like early-mid December, it probably wouldn't get to a lot of places until after the holidays. And, in theory, that would be more on the stores themselves for putting them out late, not Todd. I don't know how the contracts work, of course- there may be a set date where any and all new product has to be on shelves, but if not, I could see him trying to prolong the shelf life as much as (legally) possible.

The IGN thing tomorrow afternoon should take care of some of that. The McFarlane part of the Target Summer Geek Out is this Friday the 12th. Should be something for that.

But yeah, lotta leaks and less than seven months on the clock. With what will essentially be no sell down period for Todd to move his inventory.

Two ways to look at this situation:

*Todd is taking care of his loyal customers to the very end. After this, 7” scale mainstream superhero figures are dead outside of Spawn.

*Todd is deliberately spiting Mattel counter to his own best interest.
